Bondi Lifesaver 1980, with Ian Rilen on bass. I've spent 30+ years playing and touring and I have never, ever found anything as ferocious as that night. RIP Pete, Mick, Dallas, and Ian, ( x were legend ). Had "Nice boys don't play Rock n Roll" tattooed by Pete in 1983. Those days will never be repeated, nor will younger ones understand. Great times.

@@benm8501 Yeah, there were probably a handful of us in each US metro. Not enough to sell a lot of albums, or gain bands like the Tatts airplay, but Oz pub rock had its adherents -- spread by word of mouth, really.

This is from Paris, May 1981. Remedy/Nice Boys were up a few years ago but disappeared after a few months as did Suicide City from the Beat Club gig in Germany. Pity. Mick Cocks' right hand near the 2min mark....fuck yeah! R.I.P. Ian, Dallas, Mick & Pete! TFFT!!!

Mate , I saw Rose Tattoo live 80 or 81 on the back of a truck at Fowlers Lane near Bangalow, Byron Bay. Angry headbutting fold back. Amazing gig Addault n Battery album just about 2b released. Angry was so blind drunk they carried him off 4 songs 2 go! They were still incredible.

I reckon this one and AC/DC's Let there be rock have got to be up there as Oz's best ever real rock song both are epic aussie take no prisoners fuck you here it is full on balls and all frenzied bone crushers. I was at a number of these early gigs by both bands and they still stand as the very best I have ever rocked out with. Legendary performances, I salute you all.
