I have the Critarion Blu Ray.. Pretty happy with the picture & sound. Last time I watched it was about a year ago.

I don’t think it would be much of an upgrade if any going to the paramount 4k and now that the criterion blu ray is out of print I would say that’s the definitive edition

Rosemary's Baby is a masterpiece but I can't see what big improvement 4k can do for this film.

It really doesn’t improve the film much. It’s the best it’s ever looked but it’s not a big upgrade over previous releases and it’s also not really necessary.

Just a wonderful film. One of the best Polanski's film. I bought it on VHS, DVD and Blu-ray.. So definitely, I'll pass on buying it again.. If you don't mind. Great Video. Keep on posting and Greetings from Spain 🎉

I didn't by the Criterion and only way I was going to buy this was if the transfer was on the level of 2001 SPACE ODDESSY. That slipcover blows too.

Yea I know i’m in the minority for liking this slip cover but It’s still better then The Exorcist. I don’t know how many 4ks come close to 2001, That’s in the top 3 all time I think.

So you’re just not going to have the movie full stop? 2001 A Space Odyssey was filmed on 65mm film, meaning there’s a lot more quality to start with. They were able to bring out the equivalent of a 8-9k master because 65mm film is so detailed compared to a 35mm negative. The 4k we have is actually a downscaled version of this remaster. Comparing Rosemarys Baby, which was shot of much lower grade 35mm Eastman 50T film is like comparing a Ferrari with a Ford Focus. For the way it was shot, Rosemary’s Baby is not going to look much better than this 4k. I own this as well as the Criterion version. Please take into consideration the context of what you’re saying.

@@benpascall4297 I'm sure you will agree not all 4k are better than all blurays and in some case not even better than the dvd as in GOODFELLAS and SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER. So if you were on a budget and could only afford the 4k or bluray which one would you buy?

That’s very strange, I’ve had this happen and i’ve turned of the 4k player. Sound system and restarted it and it fixed it. Still shouldn’t happen but sometimes that fixes those issues.

Why does no paramount movie dvd etc stay where you stop them. I’m tired of searching where I leave off and seen warnings more times then I can count

I’m not sure, That feature should be included in 2023 most studios include it but not them all.

Oh dear. If you press the green button on your remote it ‘bookmarks’ the place you were when you stop the film. When you restart it, go back to chapter selection and your saved bookmark is there. It does save, you just have to do what I said above.

@benpascall4297 I swear to god I never knew that was a thing lol. I’m embarrassed, Thank you for telling me that. Most movies have the bookmark built into the disk memory but for the ones that don’t this really helps. Thank you!!

@@LetsTalkEntertainmentMedia no problem. It will work on any Paramount title. You can also save more than one bookmark. When you go into chapters, the saved bookmarks will be there and you just select one of those instead of of of the the chapters.

@adonisorellana664 I don’t think it’s worth it, The other person asked for a different copy with a slip and not to open the one they had to mail back. That’s an option if you want to try that. It’s their mistake not yours.

Between the transfer being limited by the source material and that atrocious slipcover, which was made in Mario Paint, I'll be sticking with my Criterion and putting my dollars towards something else. Thanks, John.

No problem buddy and that’s what I would recommend personally, That Criterion release definitely has better box art and from what i’m seeing it won’t be a huge upgrade visually.

I did like how that turned out! If I didn’t have any of them I would of liked that. Great packaging on that.
