You're joking. You've got to be. I was just trying to figure out how to do bias binding for a Pansy-inspired dress I'm doing, and this just popped up as your new video!!! Like, what are the chances! Thank you, Janelle, you're the ultimate lifesaver!

@@RoseryApparel I was also thinking, it would be nice to go through a sewing vocabulary/ how to read a pattern? The different symbols, stitches, etc.? I think that would be really helpful because my first fear in sewing was patterns lol! (I got over it, it just took a lot of KZbin videos to find each stitch and each symbol, and it would be helpful to have it in one video)

These videos have been sooo helpful, thank you for sharing them! I have been struggling with my bias tape makers for a while now so this really is my go-to video now for troubleshooting! I feel intimidated to sew with any fabric with stretch because I don't really understand what stitches to use, etc. to make something turn out and hold up. Or buttonholes, those always seem to be an issue! 😅😂 These would both be topics that would be great to watch and very helpful.

I had so much fun making a printable bias-tape-maker once. Ofc not as durable when made of cardstock but interesting none the less. It was a decade ago so can't remember where online iy was. Thank you Janelle for this eye-candy tutorial, lovely like all your well though out videos! You inspire me to do more my style clothes and accessories and take out the old sewing machine. Love from the opposite side of thr globe😊❤

I love bias binding. I use it wherever I can, as I hate the look and the process of adding facings. I like the Tessuti method. Some great tips here.

Hi Janelle, love your sewing for beginners series! I've just learn today that bias tape actually using a diagonal cut of fabric for the more stretchy reason, no wonder my previous project curled up so much, haha xD Gonna be using this technique to make some cute dress! xoxo

This is perfect thank you! I want to sew my first shirt this weekend and all the patterns I found use this so I was a bit intimidated. To get this straight: is the first method you showed for completely hiding the binding and the second for showing it? Is there any other reason to use one or the other?
@kylebrittellie Жыл бұрын
It truly doesn't matter. I prefer the second personally, but I'd try both on a scrap piece of fabric and see which you prefer!

Hi there, first of all, love your content and patterns Janelle! Secondly, can anyone tell me whether the currency on the rosery appearel website is in AUS Dollar or US Dollar? Couldn't find anything about that on there :)
@RoseryApparel Жыл бұрын
Thanks, that means a lot! I’m Australian so my websites currency is AUD 😊
@unterpunkteterpinguin9780 Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for your reply! I'm from Germany and only recently discovered that Australia also has Dollar as its currceny but that the exchange rate is very different to US Dollar. So that kinda makes it feel to me as if all your patterns are half off all of a sudden :D maybe squarespace has a feature to include different currencies? that would be very handy for people like me and make it even more enticing to buy stuff ;) Have a lovely day and enjoy the rest of your time in Japan! it seems to be really stunning there and it's so nice of you to let us be part of your time there ❤

@AticoMosean5 ай бұрын
why does it need to be cut in diagonal?
@RoseryApparel5 ай бұрын
Cutting it diagonally (along the bias) makes it have a bit of stretch which makes it easier to stitch around curves etc.
