Milorad Djurdjic even though Rachel is a selfish bitch (at least in the early seasons) while Julie has done nothing but kindness. yeah..in order for this to work, the only way is to hire someone who doesn't share the same race/culture as Ross. and i guess hiring a girl who is less hot than Rachel would help too. It's psychology. The writers are smart.
