Fabulous, Ross; many thanks for you, Stelios Pertrakis, the Chemirani borthers and countless others for your wonderful music - we met briefly in 2002 when you played the Greek-Indian music concert in St. George's, Bristol. I come to Crete almost every year but have yet to make it to Houdedtsi for the music. Maybe this year (Adam Czarnowski)...

Sometimes some compositions just sound better with only one instrument..This composition ,Epistrofi is also on Microcosmos with also percussion but on this video it sounds much better..just the sheer beauty of tarhu or only one instrument when played properly is what we want to hear..

That's incredible! Sympathetic strings don't normally reproduce well on KZbin, but they're really singing on your instrument.

Fantastic. I noticed he holds it between his legs, and not on the knee as with most kamancha players, is this to help support the long neck?

But are we sure he is hitting the correct notes! Correct in the sense of the notes that he wants to hit. Early on in this piece, I'm sure he was hitting some rather "dodgy" notes.

@@giorgosioannou4607 Well, that response means that you believe that "folk" bowed string players never play out of tune! Well I've heard some of the best UK/Irish fiddlers play out of tune and even classical players of a pretty high standard. I've even read interviews with top bluegrass fiddlers where they admit having "off days" as far as good intonation goes,
