I'm so sorry to see Nedra's husband passed away. At least he is at rest but Nedra must go on without him but she has some lovely children and grandchildren and hopefully they are close together. All the best to her.

I wish Nedra would be on social media somewhere so I can tell her how awesome she is! I would have totally been after her back in the 60’s if I was in a neighboring band. haha

You would have gotten nowhere! She had aunts and matriarchs all over always guarding The Ronettes.

I would never dare ask anyone “what are you?” And especially Nedra from the Ronettes

The interesting thing is that Nedra's mixed background (African-American, Native, and Puerto Rican from what I read) is becoming more the norm. God makes beauty out of the diversity of people, and you see that in Nedra.

I used to think Nedra looked Filipino. She was and still is a beautiful woman and person. I wish her cousin Estelle had gotten help back then.

I like that cunning and whimsical expression on Nedra's face, when she performed in the 60ies.

This was a wonderful interview to watch. Now it makes sense why Nedra speech at the Rock and Roll hall of fame was so wonderful & touching. She is an amazing humble and religious woman. Those are two wonderful qualities anyone can ever have. I wish we could've had an interview of Estelle Bennett in her later years. A friend of hers said when at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Estelle lit up something her friend had never witnessed. It must have been a wonderful experience for all three of them and in Nedras speech she sure made it known. Hope our paths cross one day Nedra. God Bless You Always. 🙏

As a student at Regent University between 88-90 I was very blessed to eat Nedra’s Barbecue numerous times. She is so genuine blessed of God wise and caring with great sense of humor and very engaging. The best barbecue ever. Very Christlike lady whose place one could eat lunch with Pat Robertson and Ben Kinchlow. Scott Ross was a great man loved his “ Taking it to the Streets” program on CBN. Every time he walked into Nedra’s he’d say “ the wife of my youth.” 🎚

A young lady who saw my photos of one of Ronnie Spector's live club performances in Chicago in the mid '80s asked "What is she?" I had to ask a few questions of my own to finally realize she was inquiring as to Ronnie's ethnic background as were those who asked Nedra "what" she is. Many thought there was some Asian heritage in the Ronettes' mix because of the extreme eye makeup they sported, which, Ronnie explained in her autobiography, was copied from the girls of Spanish Harlem. This kind of racial inquiry has no doubt become even more common as the US has become increasingly cosmopolitan, and xenophobia has unfortunately risen with the flames fanned by a former US President.

I don't agree with you. You liberals, and I can tell you are liberal just from that statement about Donald Trump, are so hateful towards Trump, and for what? He was the best president we've had in many years. You think he spreads hate, but it is you, and those like you that are spreading hate, and for no reason. I pray you all wise up because if we don't get Trump back in office, this country will fall. Look at how bad it's gotten in 3 and a half years. This country can't take 4 more years of Biden. 🙏

Lord, we pray for the soul of Loalwa Braz, as requested by @josemcardenas3946. May she rest in Your eternal peace and love. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted" (Matthew 5:4). We ask for comfort for all who grieve her passing. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Mental illness is a difficult issue. It involves a person's will. You cannot override someone's will if they are unwilling to accept help.

How do you know she didn't try and help Estelle?
@michael0.7703 жыл бұрын
@@tonismith2352 I don't know Estelle's story other than what I have read. But to pronounce that mental illness is a lack of will is not something we can judge.
