I listened to Jim Cornette talk on this for about an hour and when TK kept talking about the records Jim had kept having to mention that nobody really cares about records because at the end of the day it's all made up, it's all booking. Even Matt Cardona had to somewhat come to the defense of WWE when he brought up how he (Zack Ryder at the time) and Brian Myers (Curt Hawkins at the time) went on a crazy losing streak but still out of nowhere won the tag title at WM to a thunderous applause. Records don't matter if something is booked well because a record is only whatever the writers want it to be

Do the answers to these questions make him a credible title contender, 28-1 record or not? Even if you were trying to go off a more "sports-based" wins/losses/records matter for title shots approach, you then have to justify why this guy hasn't beaten anyone in a singles match in months, let alone any top 10 contenders. So it STILL doesn't make sense for him to get a title shot. ...and I *like* Hook!

As I said... win loss records matter only in so far as the booking wants them to matter. Why did Adam Copeland get a TNT Title shot, when others, with a more impressive W/L record in AEW didn't? Why is PRIMARILY beating lower card guys a reason for a major title shot, when people winning bigger matches don'T get one? Like, usual booking for, say a dominant heel on the way to a title shot is: Start with jobbers, then you have him go up against mid-carders and on the way to the shot (from the booking PoV, not the on screen), you have him beat upper carders and even former champions/main eventers. Or he strikes against the champion and really makes an impression. Also funnny thing, I did a short calculation... Jinder Mahal on AVERAGE, over his 19 (at the end of this year it will be 20) year career averages about 54 matches a year. Hook, in his three years together, had 47 total. I mean, TOny loves numbers... Last year, Jinder had only six matches, the years before, he had 38 and 34 From 11 to 13 and in 17 and 18, he had over a hundred matches each year (around and over 150 in 17 and 18) If we're talking "records" it seems like Jinder is a work horse, even if as a lower card jobber mainly, while Hook... has a match every now and then. (of course, hyperbollically speaking) I think that's something James E. criticized as well? That a lot of the newer guys in AEW don't really have enough matches to really work on their stuff?

TK seems to forget that Seth Rollins is the kind of fighting champion that would GIVE World Heavyweight Title shots to just about anybody. That... that is the way that the WWE is booking him. So in THAT realm of storytelling, it makes sense for the WWE and its fanbase. They book Roman to be the part-time champion, and they book Seth to be the workhorse champion.

The problem with Khan's social media outbursts like this is simple: guilty by association for the rest of the talents that work under him. Don't get me wrong, it is healthy to blow off steam from your frustrations than bottling it all in, but there are productive and less embarrassing ways to do it instead of airing it out on social media. Plus, it's often underlooked, but connections do play a big part with employment opportunities. Unless Tony Khan is guaranteeing his talents lifelong employment, any AEW personnel should be worried in the event their contracts expire, cause people in HR will remember these things. It's why you do not badmouth your former employers, even if you did leave on bad terms.

The problem with Tony is that his entire life has been nepotism; he's clearly only working with Fullham because his father owns it. I think the only reason that Jinder and Rollins is happening is so they can give Seth a program to do before his inevitable match against Punk at Wrestlemania, Granted, I think they could have given Seth a better opponent, but, it's not up to me / us to decide that and--as noted--there is history between Seth and Jinder so it DOES make a little bit of sense.
