Thanks for "LIKING" my videos. I purchased a 6 shot Rossi revolver in .357 Magnum with a 4" barrel as a blem from kygunco and this is it. Capable of firing .38, .38 Long, .38 Special, and .357 Magnum, I used .357 Magnum target loads for this review.

Thank you for sharing the video. I also have the Rossi R97104 357 Magnum. I love the revolver for my home protection handgun. I am currently using the Double Tap ammo with a Barns 110 grain bullet. The bullet is a little light for a 357 Magnum, but the ballistics are unbelievable with this load from Double Tap. The grip is perfect for both my wife and I, and is exactly why I use it for home defense. When I am not around, this is the handgun I tell her to use if needed. The 4" barrel is also great for home defense. My longest shot inside would be around 20 feet. Thanks again for posting.

00:40 "Works pretty well to push those spent casings out" Unless you made the mistake of using Tulammo .357 FMJ ......then unless your superman or the hulk you need a rock or a hammer to get them F-ers out. I fired 6 of em 1 time.......now i have a box of 44 .357 magnum paperweights on my desk.

@@johnjimenez5137 Its because steel cases do not "shrink" back down after expanding when shot, the way brass cases do. The polymer coating that they put on them is to help rectify this, but its not always successful.

Also, the owners manual says to let the trigger go all the way forward to reset. This is true of any revolver.
@gunfzx
@gunfzx 7 жыл бұрын
tdrnkr - Did that. With finger out of trigger guard. But I cocked it before the trigger went forward. It did not reset. True about any revolver?

You've gotta release the trigger for the cylinder to rotate? Who knew... 😌

The 971 with Taurus lock on hammer was probably the worst version of Rossi .357 revolvers. Their best 971 models are marked Interarms on the side plate.

Does no one teach the double click method of a revolver ? On any revolver I've owned or shot there is a first click then another click jjust before the hammer drops. It sure came in handy in qualifing at 50 yards double action only on an FBI course. Make sure your gun is unloaded and then slowly pull the trigger until you feel and most likely hear a first click, then slowly keep pulling until you hear/feel the second click. When you hear the second click its an easy pull until the hammer drops. Keep practicing, you can do it and save a lot of money from real firing. THEN go to the range..

You're just stuck in semiauto trigger mode, no full release habit of trigger, all revolvers need complete return of trigger regardless of single action or double.

I found 1 in my area for $200, but it's a snubnose. I wanna buy it 5 minutes ago but the S&W 39-2 I bought last night set me back $250. I got 2 revolvers but they're plinkers; both are H&R 732's that shoot .32 s&w long. Anyway, I love the video & I couldn't stop laughing. You sound like Will Ferrel as Ron Burgundy in Anchorman! I was waiting for you to say that you have an armory that smells of rich mahogany and leather bound books, LOL! Take care, thank you for a good video. I love revolvers.

I just bought one of these for $215 otd in san diego CA on consignment, can only do consignment or pot because they are off roster so cant order one or buy it from a dealer here. I got and a MC1911 S girsan made in turkey for $300, $515 total no tax. Sometimes you can find a steal, and if the price is low enough, you have some room to make adjustments to make the gun work better for you wether it has issues or not.

maybe you should practice and learn mechanics of a revolver.. if you hold trigger and pull hammer of course cylinder won't turn. nothing wrong with your firearm.. you just don't understand how they work.. corny man

You think the dry firing I did for this video will cause a problem? If so the manufacturer is stupid and the gun is garbage. You could at least be sensible and recommend snap caps. It’s a modern center fire gun - it’ll be fine.

This video is from 2018. The R97104 is no longer made. Rossi pistols basically shut down a few years back, and Taurus bought the factory, and started making new Rossi revolvers in 2023; the RP63 and RM66.

Its always amazed me why reviewer thinks the viewer cares that the gun is unloaded. It should be unloaded before you even begin making the video. You cant shoot me with it. Also, not wise to dry snap a spurred hammer.
