I once dissasembled a laptop to remove dust and apply new thermal paste. I mounted it back and used it for some hours when suddenly the screen went dark. The computer kept working , just the screen was all black, but external motinor showed image. ... long story short, during the reassembly, I had left some of my finger grease in one of those connectors, specifically in the screen light power supply. Not that my hands were dirty, but somehow my fingers were not totally washed prior to the handling. It made bad contact and over the time the contact heated up to the point of melting the plastic and ruining proper further contact of that pin and its neigbour Clean all connectors before mounting them , people. I lost this laptop because of some small grease in a loaded pin of the connector. Good video, good work Luisito

This also helps you conserve mental energy for harder boards that you can’t just solve by looking at it.

In regards to your microscope mount and not knowing its design personally; I would speculate that the reason that specific swivel is loose when you've tightened that specific adjustment as much as it can be is because of one of three possibilities in order of least likely to most likely: 1. Least likely: You're adjusting the wrong thing for that specific swivel joint. I'm sure you know how it works though, but it never hurts to sanity check ourselves. 2. Far more likely: The swivel joint is missing some sort of friction gasket for its adjustment screw. 3. Slightly more likely: There's possible damage to the adjustment screw itself either from the relocation or reassembly. If #2: I would suggest a cheap fix being to mash up some shredded tissue paper with a little water into a thick paste and shove a clump of it down into the adjustment screw socket and up against the joint. Let it dry somewhat before reinstalling the adjustment screw. Test to see if you get resistance in the joint as you apply pressure. If you don't, then you may need to add more paste. If you still don't, or doubt this will work on initial inspection, then asses other possible solutions as I'm unaware what may be preventing this from working.
@LEXXIUS Жыл бұрын
I think a piece of paper around the shaft, either 1 or 2 layers, should do the trick. The paper paste method would just disintegrate over time, I'd assume.
@XionEternum Жыл бұрын
@@LEXXIUS Quite the contrary; this method is used for custom fitting wads for shotgun slugs, and is very effective and resilient. Would it degrade? Certainly, but not at all quickly, and it's intended to be a firm yet somewhat compressible friction gasket for the joint.
