I was just talking to my wife out my Trail hawk. They are starting to separate but not as bad. You've given me the courage to pull the trigger and get a jump on it! Thanks!

Great vid! Thanks for posting a high quality and helpful video. Tried using your link to purchase but from the US it gets sketchy.

Hi Glenn, thanks so much for watching and your comment. Which link Amazon or Aliexpress? I was sceptical of Aliexpress at first especially as the prices seemed too low! I now use it all the time. From what I can tell you are buying straight from the factory in China, the only downside is the delivery times can be long. They are on Amazon but a lot more expensive. They still look great on the car.

mine did this, TX heat I guess. Will try it. While off, can see why door led isn't working anymore

sounds like a plan Jack, will probably be a simple connection or faulty LED

@@RossPerryProductions magically works again. I ordered the same since I have a black trailhawk with red trim. I dont see why they make the trim so short that it needs to be stretched. Did see another video where he bought trim and had enough material that it didnt have to be stretched, just glued. Guess have another 10 days and will give it a shot. Thanks for the video.

Any tips to remove the glue foam more effective?

have you tried acetone or methylated spirits ?

I didnt see any info here on time to do One door from disassembly to peel off/clean, glue and apply and reinstall. What do you think 2 hours per door?
@RossPerryProductions Жыл бұрын
Hi Nat, about 10 minutes to get the panel off, a good hour or so to prepare and stick the material, a bit of drying time for the glue, and then 10 mins to put it back on. 2 hours seems about right :)

Where did you get the sikabond contact fix? I only see the big buckets of it online

I got it from bunnings here in Australia, any contact adhesive should be ok

Do you think cutting furniture felt pads for the leather panels would be a good replacement for the foam?
@RossPerryProductions Жыл бұрын
could work, but you would need to glue it on both sides to stop separation I think. Ross
@Japailla5 ай бұрын
Does the glue let you adjust the fabric or is it glued on contact
@RossPerryProductions5 ай бұрын
Hi there, it depends what type of glue you choose to use really, I used a contact adhesive which pretty much sets on contact but there would be other glues that you could use.
@chazzicili3244 Жыл бұрын
Is removing the door panel needed? Or can u just remove the button panel? Thinking about fixing mine up.
@RossPerryProductions Жыл бұрын
Hi Chazzic, no you could keep it on the car, however I was worried about getting glue everywhere and it was a lot easier laid flat, but that's a personal choice. Its well worth doing.

Hi there, not usually no. Are you in Brisbane?

Can these be put on without having to remove the whole door panel?
@RossPerryProductions10 ай бұрын
You definitely could, but it isn't too difficult to remove the panel, and I would always remove them to get the best possible finish.

Is it okay to just use the original leather and just re apply it?
@RossPerryProductions7 ай бұрын
Yes of course, however with my one it had actually shrank and would not easily stretch back to cover the exposed areas.

It's strange, my doors started to do this at one point and when I took it to the dealership for an oil change, they fixed it without me asking. Now it's doing it again after going getting it looked at for something else. I figured they got into the door panel or something and messed it up but idk. Maybe it just happened and I never noticed.

Hi there, yes, its a pain the material was originally cut perfectly to size rather than oversized and wrapped around. As I had the car in Darwin (NT Australia) the material had shrank in the heat. the new set I put on still look great.
@oscarmu9017 ай бұрын
Some ceramic tints that help reflect heat would help avoid some of this
@RossPerryProductions7 ай бұрын
yes it would generally and this model did have dark tints, however Darwin Australia where this car was it is constantly between 35-40 degrees centigrade all year round with up to 95% humidity. When sitting in the sun the interior of the car can get up to 60 degrees c due to the black roof. Window tints only go so far
@mackdye90707 ай бұрын
So not a Jeep problem, but a weather problem of the area you live in.
@RossPerryProductions7 ай бұрын
Hi there, a mix of both, the material is cut back very short at the openings, so it doesn't take much shrinking to pull back and have exposed areas. However, in colder climates I would imagine the material wouldn't shrink as it did with my one. Ross
