I recently figured out the solution to having your stuff being thrown around in the back of a ute. On eBay you can find something called adjustable ratchet cargo bars, they're about $50aud and they clamp to each side of the tray using tension and allow you to secure your load. Very handy tools

The week in 2009 I picked up my VE SSV, my good mate picked up his silver HSV Maloo! 😭 I had mine chipped, cold air intake, upgraded exhaust to take it to 340kw. It was bloody nice. I’m a Ford guy & wanted a FPV but I showed my then young daughter & son brochures. They both picked the VE. No regrets except when I sold it for 2 work vans. Thankfully a good mate’s wife bought it! She loves it & treats it as well as I did!👍🏻😎

Nice but you should drive a manual VF model. Also I have owned a VZ clubsport and a VF Clubsport and the VF is way better. And, if you do look for a VF see if you can find a supercharged version ;)

Nice, I had a 2010 HSV E2 Clubsport GXP (317 kW, LS3), and always thought the 6 speed auto was pretty responsive in Sport. Gearing may have been different (suspension was) as I think the GXP Clubby and Maloo were originally destined for the US market as Pontiac's, and were re-badged for here when GM killed Pontiac. Sports auto off the line was always impressive, considering the GXP's just had the standard Commodore SS width tyres on the back (same width as fronts), and the non-GXP HSV's has wider tyres on he back.

If yall love to spool that much then throw a turbo on that v8 and make close to 1000hp on SBE. It's amazing a stock bottom end LS engine with a turbo can make 1000hp reliably.

Another great video I too am an Holden man the Ve is a nice car great looks in HSV form drives nice yes the steering is probably too light I think even lighter in the Vf series and any v8 should be manual or at least a tuned motor/auto with a 3k highstall to wake the shifts and drive up my Vf ssv is cammed and manual pulls real hard quite a vcm 13 cam twin plate clutch the only thing I would say about most Fords I have driven is they feel like they are floating at higher speeds unlike my Vf where at higher speeds in a controled enviroment of course feels more planted

Interesting episode but, I thought you were a little hard on the Maloo. The auto on those cars are really quite good and just for the record the brakes on that model are AP Racing 4 piston brakes and they stop really well.

I love the MALOO.. the gear box tho is no where near as good as a ZF.. it’s ok but for a V8 ya need a manual.. this was also mainly my bro’s point of view 😅 still love a ute

Holden do detune the LS engines when they get to Australia do it back to the US specs it will go a lot harder all it is is the computer in it so no mods needed at all

Like me and my lil bro, Completely opposite! one is extroverted and over the top af while the other is just.... "meh, whatever" 😂😂 I'd rather a vf ss over a ve maloo anyday, (personal opinion) the VE is by far the worst looking shape they ever did. Best looking is the VF maloo followed by the VZ, i'd rather even have an ugly vs maloo over that potato that the VE is, even HSV couldn't save it.
