Awesome video but $25,000 dollars for this drone is way too overpriced.

This is clearly meant for the industrial user... In that context, I guess the price is driven less by what other drones are available than what other tools are available. If it keeps people out of dangerous locations (and lowers the insurance premiums for putting them there in the first place), it could pay for itself. But, yeah, I don't expect we'll see many of these around the local flying field...

Roswell Flight Test Crew well to say it's not unique, made this like 2 years ago on a tracking system!!! plus there others who made this gyro shpere too!! so this I clearly overprice!!!!

Key bit on price is to think about what service its competing with: confined space entry, working at heights, scaffold builders for several shifts, etc. In industry, operating time is usually worth 10-100x the hourly cost of construction/repair so having a device that saves even single digit turn-around/shutdown hours will potentially pay for this device in one use. It's a simple matter of economics really--cost/benefit analysis and setting their price point to maximize profit but still undercut the competing tech/traditions. Cheers!

Looks like a Skywalker drone with an extra axis of rotation. They could scale it down to toy price point and they'd have another promising cash stream.

Is there an Ex version of this suitable for solvent or vessel tank inspection in explosive environments

Why am I not surpriced to see 'Overpriced!' comments :) I'd say they have a very usefull product there, with the potential of a great cost reduction (and or safety gain) for their clients :)
@Roswellflighttestcrew19477 жыл бұрын
Yeah... I'm never quite sure how to respond to those comments. From a raw price point of view -- the parts involved: motors, propellers, ESCs -- I get it. I think a lot of people who watch our channel are pretty well attuned to what it takes to build a machine from the ground up. However, as you point out, drones aren't ultimately a collection of parts flying in close formation -- they are a solution to a problem. And that solution may command a much higher price than the individual components that go into it. That's a very long way of saying I agree with you...

For sure sir.. Other then that there is a Huge difference in developing a consumer products versus an industry ready product.. What is involved in user training? And a cmnpany like this will probably allso have to develop their own distribution network.. I don't think Banggood / Hobbyking would be the way to go :D

@@Roswellflighttestcrew1947 Mavic is not going to fly trainers to your location to teach your people how to use the product. Buying for an industrial setting where lives are on the line is a whole different mindset. Aviation and medical devices are priced in a similar manner.

it's a good idea, but too pricey. Also, is there no way to make the cage transparent?
@spoofghost6 жыл бұрын
i guess it could be done by doing some image manipulation on the software side.

I suggest hey can put LED's on the outside of the cage.

Holy shit. How did they come up with that price. ? It's not reasonable.

Yeah -- it looks like a pretty slick little unit: eliminates the need to have a GoPro piggyback on your racing quad... All in one!

now that's overpriced, if you know how to build your own drones that is.
@carrboro_chapelhillfpv24427 жыл бұрын
I do like the led spotlight though wonder if they would sell that separately.
@Roswellflighttestcrew19477 жыл бұрын
My guess is that they have a patent on the de-coupled cage that surrounds the drone, and they are relying on that intellectual property to keep the field clear of competitors for a few years...
@Roswellflighttestcrew19477 жыл бұрын
The spotlight is included in the base kit, as is a thermal imaging camera...
@carrboro_chapelhillfpv24427 жыл бұрын
humm, that would work, wonder how well the thermal camera is? I don't like the cage in the camera view however. I pre-ordered a thermal powereye myself so that's my big Drone purchase for the year anyway.

Look, I get a mavic pro for $1000(I have it already) and a cage for $200 and you are doomed with your ridiculously high price. As for a range extender any person with hands can DIY it. What are you trying to achieve as a marketing manager? Not to sell it at all. You are on the right way then, I can tell you that something like this is already happening with some greedy guys trying to sell a rod cage for $500. We have looked at it, lol and in two days one guy has created a similar product spending about $30-40 on it. So who is going to pay that greedy guys $500 for their cage when almost anybody can do it for $40.
