I know that this episode didn't feature a lot of drew moments until nearing the end, but after this snippet, i think i can slowly piece together everything that went wrong with Drew and jake For jake, the argument is when Drew was more aggressive when he was younger with bullying, we can see from the clip with him being extremely rude to haily and this ment that jake felt almost terrified or at least scared of drew to the point where he could not be himself or tell him anything. That's the main one for jake's argument, referencing episode 11 when he assumed that drew would never support his passion. However the argument for drew is complicated because there are a lot of points to take in for example from the small clips of him we can see that his eyes are very dull or hold no light in them similar to episode 11, this makes me sceptical if this was a design choice with intention or none at all but I'm going to assume that something may have happened during this time as when current drew is normally shown, he is calm and collected, making silly remarks and seems harmless but this version is more violent sort of. This may explain some of jakes actions, but definitely not all of them. As for the defence of drew, because he was so aggressive when he was younger people would constantly lie to him to be on his good side, this ment that the jake we currently have, drew see's him as a stranger because it isn't the person he once knew, because of this constant cycle of lying drew built this image of a perfect friend he relied on and could trust, which in this case was jake, like it or not he is a people pleaser so it's no surprise. However, after jake slowly ditches the dromies, we can see drews eyes becoming more dull as time passes by, i was thinking this could hint to attachment issues, but I'll leave that to you. Drew realised what jake was doing but still silently supported him as i remember in one episode, drew tried to correct himself for jake knowing that it would upset him and drew wouldn't want that but then came the fight and everything got revealed. Which caused a whole years worth of trust, get crushed into dust This is too long, so I'll just say that after years of knowing someone, you'd assume you could tell them everything, no? But with jake, it was all about survival. But his actions and drews aren't excused as jake gave away drews gifts to people he doesn't mess with, like sean, the laptop was given by drew to jake which i kinda found messed up but yknow, then there's zoey which jake also has no excuse for except for him being scared, the constant lies, ditching and all that hood stuff, for jake it was not being bullied again and trying to fit in without causing any negative attention. This whole friendship was a mess.

Kinda off topic but honestly I'm always wondering why Drew hates Hailey so much. I wonder if they have a sorta back story or Drew just hates her because she's a "freak" but honestly, it doesn't seem enough of a reason to treat her so awfully. I'm not even gonna lie, when Henry implied she might be Drew's ex lover I believed it for a moment, since it might be just me but he looked more sad than angry. Also after you mentioned about his eyes' lighting I rewatched the video and noticed that it only happens when he's around Hailey, he really can't stand her. Also, he seems much more aggressive to her when she tries to approach Jake, so it must be jelousy, but that still doesn't explain why he disliked her before.

If you go the short comic dub route for season 2, I think it will work quite well. I know it is a lot for you right now, but comics are much easier than animation, so if you do it this way, congrats! It worked well, and it was adorable!
