I left my laser in a stupid place and mud came off the bucket and went straight through the top glass, that won't happen again!

Good on you! I have the same laser, except mine is the green beam. Good to see it can take some abuse and keep going. These cheap laser levels work really well... I tested mine before I ever used it on a project, it was level within 1/8" at a distance of 450 feet (mark the line, then rotate the laser unit 180° and mark again... I think that's about the max resolution of the receiver.) Plenty good enough for me.

Just fixed a rotary laser also, SUBSCRIBED just cause it takes a brave kind to tear one apart

EDC ALLDAY thanks for the comment, it’s still going strong today so it was worth the risk.

It would be interesting if the instrument is still accurate after being damaged by this stone and the repair. Sending out laser beam doesn't mean anything.

with the exeption of the battery not being able un twist to remove id say it looks the same as one very popular brand costing £600, and used on all building sites

@let's have a go is there any chance you have directions to this thing? I've searched high and low for some sort of users manual to make sure I don't have it set to slope or some other function

As a certified Leica service technician, please do not work on your own lasers. We see it far too often and you risk damaging your instrument even more. Every single one of those PCB boards are electrostatic sensitive and you could fry them without even knowing it just from touching it. It’s better to send the laser in for professional repair (rotating lasers are relatively cheap to have repaired) than to possibly ruin the whole unit

And by opening a unit and removing the internals you also risk your calibration values greatly

@Neil Foster to calibrate and completely clean and check everything on a laser like that I only charge $127.50.

@@robbieluman1431 You can buy a new one on EBay for $218.00. $127.50 is too much to repair a used $218.00 item in my opinion. I would tear it apart too.

@@iwillnotcomply7145 when you buy online the laser will not be calibrated. You will then have to buy the laser and take it straight to a service center and pay them for calibration.

@@robbieluman1431 No. it works fine. But ok. I get it, you fix them.
