I started my trip from Istanbul Halklalı train station, and changed 41 trains to reach Urgench, Uzbekistan. I made 22,000 km by train, the world's longest journey.
Spend 6,200 EUR, all expenses were included such as accommodation, food, sight seeeing, visas and transportaion etc. I spent 1,030 EUR for train tickets and 270 EUR for flight on the way back.
Thanks to my sponsors; Columbia Sportswear, Canon Turkey and Dece Software to finance my trip. Before my trip I got Schengen, Russia and Chinese visa. My aim was to go Turkmenistan from Uzbekistan, then from Turkmenistan to Iran and went back to Turkey by train. Even though I have the
bureaucratic support from the goverment, I couldn't get 3 days transit visa from Turkmenistan. So I have to cancel my project.
During my trip many people helped me. Thanks to all these people who bought food, showed me aroud, helped with my visa issues, let me stay their home and gave their car with a driver.
And special thanks to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Murat Usta, Fabio Fantasia, Sedat Bıçak, Murat Bektaş, Ege Bagatur, Yavuz Memnun, Tuğrul Tutluoğlu, Ahmet Tamer Şimşek, Özgür Eyrice, Farkın Furkan, Zübeyda Eroğlu Sucu, Tulga Ozan, Namuunaa Bayasgalan, Sara, Melih Murat ve Nazende Kızılçelik, Önder Kılıç, Mehmet Mustehlik, Emre Meşeli, Emrah Tuncer, Eyüp Sevimli, Abdullah Çetinkaya, Aqmaral Rapilbekova, Betül Ayhan, Mert Özkan, Gökhan, Melih Kalmuk, Ercan Sadık, Kıvanç and Gökhan Erdoğan.
