The easiest way to make a robot arm base

I'm designing and 3d printing a robotic arm to hold a camera and make graceful camera movements - like those Bolt Motion Control robot arms that everyone seems to use these days.
In this video I 3d print the base using eccentrically cycloidal gears!
These are the supplies I used:
NEMA 17 stepper: amzn.to/3gtK3Qd
Arduino Mega: amzn.to/3nx3Oui
5mm steel rod: amzn.to/3HMBGeV
Thin wall bearings: amzn.to/3gtYLqG
and: amzn.to/3H7JPZY
1.75mm PLA+ filament: amzn.to/3HvzVT5
The PTFE grease came from eBay - search for "50g silicone PTFE grease"

And the obligatory comment.. Are you sharing your design? STL or OBJ files so we can print one for ourselves? Great project, have been following along with the cycloidal variants.. But, have you thought about ball bearing cycloidal drive?

If it's for robot arms, then I'd probably start by reading some of the guides for the MoveIt project moveit.ros.org/

@@aiyushg1769 yep. At the moment it's just using some quick and dirty arduino code and inverse kinematics I figured out in a previous video. But when I've got the hardware done I want to get it running ROS and MoveIt.

Nice, I guess you could put some grease on the bearing balls to stop them from escaping

​@@roTechnic The bike shop teached me this trick when I needed a temporary solution for when my steering head bearing broke, just put a bunch of grease around it and place induvidual balls in the grease all around the tube head and they'll stay in place until assembling back the topcap!
