I recall his voice sounding more British than Scottish in the actual movie, but this is a nice toy representation of ROTF Jetfire. I can't wait to get my hands on this sucker -- his character in the movie, and your review have me sold on getting this toy eventually.

If you have seen the movie, Jetfire IS the run-down, rusty-peice-of-crap! So, I think the the way they made it were it falls apart is excelant!

Supposedly He's coming out in August everywhere or very soon. Its up on the Hasbro website but sold out. I got mine from a friend in Illinois from Walmart. :D

you are right, in the box it says that the war of the decepticons sickened him and came to earth, but when the war came to earth he changed sides and decided to finich this war at every cost, even his life, wow, hes a hero.

Woo-hoo! A Scottish Transformer. We don't get many of those. This looks like an awesome figure. Also, peaugh, was the nibblet playing on a plastic rocking toy horse in the background. I could hear it make a "nay" every time she would rock forward and back. lol

yeah, they have 3 repaints out at walmart (exclusive to walmart) of Ramjet, Starscream, and Skywarp. All of which are repaints of T1 starscream.

Jetfire is an old decepticon who switches sides. It was similar in G1, Skyfire was a decepticon which switched sides.

Anyhow, I love Jetfire (later know as Skyfire), esp. when he was in his G1 days, basically looking just like the Macross VF-IS toy, more articulation than any other TF in those days. Good stuff peaugh, will continue to watch out for your reviews, thanks!

@SanderPatrick He has a molded on cockpit, but I wish the transformation was a bit more screen accurate. It seems like they mainly made it to combine with Optimus, and the rest was just an after thought.

All I need is Jetfire, The Fallen, and a big pyramid to recreate the scene when Optimus beat the snot out of The Fallen. And to make Optimus look more movie accurate in robot mode, you should flip the visors up diagonally, rotate the front wheels backward, and flip those blue knee thingies outward. Can you please make a video about Devastator if you haven't done that already?

I might still get this guy...loved his part in the movie (old-man-bot, accent). I'd wish the toy was a bit more detailed/better colored though. I swear the robot in the movie was like a robotic-bird-legged man thing with a hunch back stance on a cane. Sounds silly, but when you see him move in the movie, Jetfire is actually pretty cool looking =)

I had feeling when watching the movie that his toy was just going to be his robot mode folded up under the jet. Seems I was right. I thought the movie designers were supposed to be working closer with Hasbro on this one to make the newer Transformers more toy friendly?

in the first movie were optimus does a u turn drift thats 20 mins from my house going to edwards airforce base the tire marks are still there. its funny cause they messed up 4 times u can see were they did it more than once along the road

in almost every action movie there is a old coot in it in transformers ROTF its jetfire he went from cargo plane(transformers cybertron)to 1 of 2 twins(transformers animated)to an old coot in the smithsonian

You are correct, that was to be my first argument, "The SR-71 Blackbird never had an offensive weapon on it of any kind". The outrageous Rocket firing gatling, was just blatently stupid! I would have let a regular gatling pass, but that thing is rediculous!

got mine today at WAL-MART in San Diego. Check your local WAL-MART. Have them check the back for a few cases of leader class figures they should have them. that's what i did. get delivery dates (i.e. monday, wednesday ect.) for shipments of transformers figures. he retails for around 48+change, well worth it. don't go the amazon route. they have second and third party sellers doubling the price of this figure. just be persistant ;)

There is one episode in the classic cartoon, can't remember the title, but it explains how he started off as an Decepticon and ends up with the Autobots. I believe he saw Starscream betray him and then he saw how evil the Decepticons really are and then he joins the Autobots.

You are incorrect! The gatling, or Minigun as it is known, was used in vietnam. Predator came out in 1987, twenty years after it was developed. The minigun at this time was aready capable of being fired by hand, but the ammount of ammo and the overally bulk of the gun made it inmpractable for ground troops. It was used on military vehicles, bases, and aircraft, that could supply the gun with a long stream of ammo. It is a suppressive fire weapon, and at that an automatic. It can't fire rockets!

@clamcan I agree it is somewhat annoying, especially for kids, and the chance of losing pieces is bad, but I think for the most part they are purposly designed that way so the parts pop off instead of break. I'd rather something pop off a ball joint than just snap the plastic. I'm still bitter that I broke my G1 jazz when I was 9 about a week after getting him. If his head were on a ball joint he'd still have one. lol

i really miss the old jet fire (AKA Sky fire). i remember the original Transformers and how the movie mixed so many things. like Megatron was a gun. Beast Wars And Transformers weren't on the same screen (rarely). and Hot Rod (there probably gonna get him in but still). all and all they should get the original Story of jet fire and do EXACTLY THAT.

you obviously didnt read my comment correctly, I did say HANDHELD Gatling, The Gatling was originally used in Fighter Planes and then Helicopters, then Land Assault vehicles, But they didnt have the Handheld ones you saw from Predator on. Even the Director said that there were no gun like it so they couldnt get one from the military, so they had to make it from Scratch (commentary on the DVD, Look for Old Painless). But my main point of all this is, if you can think it, someone can build it.

jetfire is the only transformer that switches side permenantly he has been with the decepticon as a researcher with starscream but when he meets up with the autobot his views changed about his own faction and then joined the autobots

His transformation is quite simular to that of Starscream's, and he was Starscream's apprentice (according to his Transformers Movie Starscream Wiki/ Transformers.Wikia.com) and he's one of my FAVORITE transformers ever.

He was a Decepticon during the great war, but got burnt out and went off to become a hermit. Later on Earth, he is convinced to rejoin the war on the side of the Autobots -from the bio.
