Michelle Gomez - collaborations amongst artists in the music industry happen to cross-share fan base. Not because one needs the other to make a hit, although sometimes it happens because there’s more than one fan base consuming the created product. Rotimi doesn’t have as big a fan base in Africa as the two artists I mentioned, the song is great and is Afro-Pop so it would make sense to collaborate with a top African artist to reach the African consumer base. Drake has collaborated with Wizkid on a song, I’m pretty sure he didn’t have to, but his song was Afro-Pop so he felt the need to touch the African fan base as they are the major consumers of that kind of content, thus collaborating with an African artist. It‘s about reaching the song’s full potential.

I'm a year late but on behalf of myself and other dark skin women, I wanna say thank you, Rotimi, for using a dark skin woman as the lead. 👸🏾We needed this portrayal. If only other black men can show us the respect we deserve and not call us "mAscUliNe". Shows how much you love your roots. We love you right back and will continue to support you and your music. Stay safe and keep winning, bruv!🤗
