@brian93ist Yes, the tractor we're using is 115 hp JD 7510. but still your grinder is rated for an 80 hp tractor and larger, so your tractor should still be capeable of running it. once you get it swapped over to 1000 pto, turn the crank so that the adjustable floor plate is raised all the way up. then start at a slow tub speed and work your way up to a faster speed if you tractor can handle more. using the 1000 pto will also give more air flow and "blow" the hay out instead of plugging theside

@brian93ist we use a john deere telehandler to stack the bales 4 high. we make 5 1/2 foot tall bales 5 feed wide. take a look at my other video listed under "rotogrind" and you'll see it.

@brian93ist These grinders are designed to run at 1000 rpm with no exceptions unless you bought and installed the special alfalfa hammers. If you are still running the original hammers that came on the grinder, then running at 540 pto is going to greatly diminish what you can grind. it also is going to excessively wear your hammer pins and the holes on each hammer. The hammers being dull shouldn't affect grinding speed much. plus, if they get real bad, you can flip them up to 3 times.

@DieselFume1 i agree yours is running much faster we didnt take the floor plate off we took the gard off the side of the shute it was always chokeing up we will try running it 1000pto and see if that helps you might have better hydralics or faster on a bigger tractor to

@DieselFume1 what do you stack the bales of hay with?a wheeled loader you would almost have to or a lull they are stacked high

In your experience, what is the best way to get net wrap off of the rotor? I always pull my wrap before I grind but if I get some in there I heat up an electric fence post and melt through it. Just seeing if there is a better way.

waltopher In the time that I had the RotoGrind, I never once pulled the net wrap off of the rotor. the rotor always destroyed the net wrap to the point where it never got bound up. The Roto Grind is gone now, and so is the feed truck, and in it's place is a Highline 650 processor w/grain tank. Still loved the Roto Grind though, it was a great machine.

+waltopher When I had the grinder I never removed the wrap off the rotor. it spun so fast it was never a problem.

How do you reckon this unit would handle baleage?

I've never tried to grind baleage, I know from talking to Roto grind and my own use it handles wet hay better than most other grinders. Which makes me think it would be the best grinder suited for baleage. However I think I would give rotogrind a call and get their perspective on it. They're pretty honest guys

we run ours with a 85hp tractor on the pto

@brian93ist Also, taking out the floor plate hoods make it harder on the machine because it takes away most of the regulating ablility of the grinder. You should really run your tractor on 1000 pto at wide open throttle for best results. If your tractor cant run 1000 pto, then you should buy the 540 hammers from rotogrind or use a different tractor with 1000 pto. Not trying to tell you what to do or anything, but from your video, that grinder doesn't look like it's operating correctly.
