A look at Rotorazer. This is a good tool for installing laminate flooring, but is a little too expensive. It does work well, though.

I just watched the infomercial of the rotorazer. Of course in infomercials everything works great and are perfect for whatever they are targeting. I check reviews that were ready to destroy the product in the most awful ways. Thank you for the information and demonstration. I will wait until a good sale shows a better price to buy it.

They going for $50 right now with a drill bit kit . He mentioned Harbor Freight, but I don't see a similar saw on there. The closest they have is the Double Cut saw which is actually close to the Dual Saw with the two counter rotating blades.

Here is some friendly advise, unlike all the ney-sayers and trolls you will find on You Tube, it's nice to see people like you sharing their experiences so that others can make sound decisions when looking to part with their hard earned monies. So, thank you for that. My constructive criticism is about your sound quality. Many go out of their way to get good video, forgetting how important quality sound is as well. You can purchase what is called a Lavaliere Microphone for under 50.00, that clips to your lapel or shirt. It is one of the best investments one can make when doing these types of video reviews. Your fine when close to the camera but as you come and go and move around, it's very distracting to have the sound fading in and out.. also beware of wind and get a foam cover for the mic, some come with. Good Luck!

Long story short: the saw can cut through any surface. Each blade cuts a different type of surface. The older model which is shown in this review with SLOW AS YOU PLAY BY PLAY is a bit easier to handle than the newer model which involves using the thumb pushing forward to control the blade. It has be mentioned by some reviewers on QVC that one that does not have strong fingers will left in the gutter with the newer model. If your fingers are used to hanging onto a pencil you will need to strengthen them before using the updated model which is currently being sold on QVC. A carpenter commented on that site stating this has been life's best kept secret. Most of the reviews on QVC concern the plastic adjustment to control the depth of the cut is breaking, the smell of smoke when opening the case, the fact that the newer saw is more difficult than what QVC program depicts, etc. Contrary to this reviewer the expense should correlate with the quality of the item itself. I have been to Harbor Freight myself and have never found many name brand items over there. They have lots of things that IMO could possibly be from China and as such on the lower end of quality. I am not a carpenter nor a fixer upper. I have bought several items at that store to use in my line of work which is fixing smaller things around the house and repairing things at work. If you are interested in this product do your homework. I almost bought the newer one on QVC but, the reviews changed mind.

Good review, I noticed the blade put off some smoke when you tried to do a curved cut. That right there tells me in no way does this replace a jig saw or scroll saw. This looks like this has a place for flooring, but the claim the tool company has on their ad is clearly not even close. Only thing I'm replacing my miter saw with is a better miter saw. Thanks for the review as it helped me make a informed decision before purchasing this tool!

Thanks for sharing. I couldn't figure out how to change the blade either based on the instructions. Your video helped me. I agree $150 was over priced. It's come down to $89 on Amazon now. That's what its worth. It was probably the first of it kind and now the market has many brands to chose from.

8:50 That answers the most obvious question that occurred to me when I saw the ad on TV. I don't even see how you could cut a shallow curve very accurately, and it must make a burnt stench if you try to cut anything tighter. We are really talking about a very expensive mini-circular-saw. The ability to do spring-loaded plunge cuts seems clever (though I'll bet some circular saws have that), but I can't imagine very many people needing this badly enough to spend $150.

This was a decent review. I was actually watching the infomercial as a joke because i never buy anything from one. I have more tools than i need and have a small 5 and a half inch circular saw and a jig saw that are cordless. I feel bad for people that have paid the big money for this. Hopefully they learned a lesson. Infomercials are always preying on uninformed people. They usually sell something people wouldn't buy if the saw it in a store. Rockwell and Dremel both make very small saws for under 100 dollars. Both are quality companies. There are many good saws that are less than full size for less than this. The worst thing about the saw is this. Why would anyone buy something that they have to plug in if they want portability? Most job sites don't have electricity and battery is light years ahead of where it was 15 years ago. Look at all the hybrid cars. If you need a small saw, go to lowes or home delot and look what you get for that price and you are buying where you can return it if you need to.

+Chris Watson The blade I was using for my laminate floor was the carbide tipped one. I did our house (1,800 sf) and it's still sharp. As far as I know, only Rotorazer has blades that'll fit. If the Rotorazer is connected to a vacuum there's almost no dust to clean up at all. In my opinion this would be a fantastic tool for a pro to use. It saved me a lot of time, and made the job way easier.

This is the damnedest device. Your video was very helpful, especially making it CLEAR the device will not cut deeper than about 3/4”. Even with a line drawn, I have difficulty making a straight cut. I have an average-size man’s hands, but I find holding it difficult because you have to hold the on switch by pulling it directly towards you AND press that lever on the right simultaneously. It’s unwieldy. You really need to have a surface set at a good height to clamp the wood, plastic, or whatever to make the perfect cut. Your video confirmed some things and explained things not in the instructions.

+Jason Phawes Like all tools it has it's limitations. It's not for huge jobs, but very good for homeowners and custom installers. It's better than needing to buy $800 worth of tools, too.

Another lethargic KZbin video! How about having a cup of coffee before you turn the camera on...

Next time talk louder. Also, does the box say it is made in the USA? I am very stubborn about buying domestic products.

There’s a volume switch on any audio device you use to play this KZbin video simply increase the volume to get the desired loudness. And another great tool on all smartphones is a great search engine called google. You can type pretty much any question you have into it and find the answer to what you are looking for!! Amazing what a little work can do for you 😉
