Hey I've bought the powertech z26 rotors and pads for both front and rear and keep hearing metal on metal when cruising what should I do in this situation
@RobsHouse3 ай бұрын
Not sure. Mine make no noise at all. Did you make sure the pad guides were clipped all the way in?

Did u have and or reuse that shim on the front that has a arrow on it

I don’t remember honestly. Been so long since I did it. Pretty sure the new pads came with new shims. You mean the metal ones that the pads slide into?

Our C7 GS rotors squeak like crazy... Carbon ceramics... Guess it's normal they say
@RobsHouse3 жыл бұрын
If the squeak goes away after you warm them up, it’s probably normal. If they squeak even when driving hard, something is up. Could be something dumb like whoever installed the pads forgot to put anti seize on the top and bottom of the pad. Could also be the issue I had which was that the previous owner put metallic pads on carbon ceramic rotors and destroyed them. You may want to pull a pad and just check that it is the correct pad.

Hey bro I’m thinking of getting these carbon ceramic pads for my 21 for the annoying brake chirping but I’m trying to decide if I should get just the pads and pair it with the stock (still new) rotors or upgrade the rotors while I’m at it 😵💫😵💫

I replaced mine because they were warped. You have to do the one extra step of unmounting the caliper but it really doesn’t take long at all. Up to you but if you’re already in there…

Great explanation all except for one thing, you didn't show us how they look on your car.... dude.

Haha good point! I guess I didn't really think about it because it's more of a functional upgrade than a form/aesthetic upgrade. They look cool, and they've held up great!
