I'm from Denmark, and i personally love salmiak (or salmiakki as they call it up north in Sweden), though most americans hate it. In fact, Scandinavia happens to be the only place it's popular, and Scandinavians happen to be the only people I've met who actually like it. I have loads of english/british and american mates, and they all hate, both the concept and the taste of it. Just like Dr.Pepper is hated wideley here - to the point where they don't sell it here - salmiak is hated in the rest of the world. Know how people say it's a Jersey thing? well.. It's a Scandinavian thing.. you wouldn't get it.
