Probe checks deck height, computer calculates height from crankshaft centerline or existing decks. Deck heights are equal and parallel to crankshaft centerline. Coolant no required.

Interesting, but the filming missed one important thing: the result. We couldn't see the quality of the processes done on the engine, what would be even more interesting...

Me: Hey kid, what do you do for a living? Kid: Precision engine machining. Me: How is it done? Kid: Well, you put this engine thingy in this machine, push the green button and watch it. Me: What happens when something doesn't go right? Kid: just push the red button.

Not bad tho, it's made for production but wished company's would do drop price for engine machining. Here most shops will charge 1000 above for machining only

Nice machine to get the key features controlled and precision for block blueprinting. I realize it is a 15 minute demo but slowing the feed on the decks to get the smoothest finish possible is desirable. A smooth mirror finish is desirable.

This method doesn't set the block up from two very important reference points, the oe datum on the pan side and the crank/cam centerline. You cannot blueprint the bore locations or the deck angles unless the machine probes both of these.

How much does this machine cost? Bare and also fully tooled, is there a waiting time if decided to buy one?, hopefully you will answer the questions here so we can take less of your time, really a nice machine you guys have here, just bought a brand new resurfacer but would hesitate to sell it if i could put my hands on this one, thank you very much.

CNC machines not only have guards and doors but the doors are "electronically locked" during automatic operation. Who needs a proper tool changer when you can make a DIY one and the end of the travel with the tapers exposed to oh never mind . Nice robust quill.

Deckplate while machining ?
@Shade_tree_garage01
@Shade_tree_garage01 Жыл бұрын
You don’t use a deck plate for boring smart one, you use it for finish honing, you bore a cylinder within 3-4 thou of its finish size, and finish the rest on the hone
@Resistculturaldecline
@Resistculturaldecline Жыл бұрын
@Shade_tree_garage01 Smart one ? It's not a cut and dried matter. Some blocks move more than others when torqued, or bolts vs. studs. Enough movement that trying to get the concentricity back by honing alone isn't a preferred method imo. Depends on the block to an extent, and depends on what's agreed upon as good enough or not.
