I've known a few Rotties in my time - friends and relatives' dogs - and they are a very loveable dog if they are socialised and trained correctly. They really love their food so they can get quite porky if you don't keep their diet in check. The ones I've known were great with kids, not gushy but definitely friendly if they know you're okay with their family and very loyal and protective of their loved ones.

Rottweilers and Dobermans, awesome dogs. Both were incredibly easy to train and phenomenally loyal to both their human and canine family members. They have both long passed but they both made a significant difference in our lives.

This video hit "every nail squarely on the head"! And 'none' of the points mentioned herein can be over-emphasized, nor should they be taken lightly. When people tell me, "I want a Rottie" (and the reason seems 'emotional'), I specifically go out of my way to emphasize all of the difficulties/challenges that come a Rottweiler... 'cause I'd prefer to scare someone off from getting the breed rather than have them mistreat, ill-train or just ignore them (as if they're a piece of furniture or an annoying obligation) - because it was more dog than they expected. Take heed, if you're not ready/willing/able to make this dog a part of your daily life, then don't get one. If you are, you'll get far more in return than you can imagine. Train them - "patiently" w/love & firmness... make them feel ALWAYS safe & loved + happy & healthy... they are Great dogs, if you know what you're doing!! I

I love this breed and I had four of them. They are stubborn but fiercely loyal, intelligent, loving and endearing. Many people lose interest because the dog requires some work on the part of the owner to train them. Like many other dogs, they are abused and tossed away into the street when they are no longer useful to their indifferent owners. Due to their popularity, they have been over-bred which introduced unpredictable behavioral anomalies and numerous physical issues. Cancer is the common reason they die early. They are heralded and they are abused, often found in kill shelters where they languish for only a short time before they get PTS. Like Pit Bulls, German Shepherds and Dobermans, they fall victim to the callousness and covetousness of insecure and greedy owners who breed them to instill fear in other people or to fight other dogs. I found two of my Rotties in shelters. Both were abused and ended up on death row. Each of them became two of my most loved companions. They revealed to me that Rottweilers are incredible forgiving dogs that will bestow a close bond that only a caring and insightful owner will be privileged to enjoy. 🐕🐾

Having their tails dock is for cart pulling, and sometimes working reasons. 9/10 rottweilers ive had, all had their tails done. But one.
@Fhall0ween7 жыл бұрын
Chevy Dogs need their tails to communicate and balance. Cutting a dogs tail is unhealthy, unnatural and unnecessary. Owners just do it for the look of the dog. Keep it legit. Some people don't deserve dogs. They should set up a license law in order to purchase a dog. *(DOG LICENSE)*

I am so impressed with the Rotties faces in this video. All of them look healthy, well balanced and well trained. Thank you for not showing those east European dysfunctional "mutts" they call purebreed Rottweillers.
@kylep82388 жыл бұрын
typical American thinking everything they do is god's gift. you are the reason why rottys have got the health problems they do now by breading them with all your fucked breeds just to make them bigger. And if our Rottweiler's are "mutts" how come then that fully pedigree German Rottweiler's are still the healthiest and most expensive Rottweiler's in the world?
@PainEpel8 жыл бұрын
+Kyle p First, I'm not American at all (European as a fact). Secondly, these "American style" rotties actually look closer to the rotties that existed 50+ years ago. Remember the times rotties were able to actually do work... ah, the good ol' days ;) and don't tell me that the serbian and (new) German rotties are as healthy as they could be. The neighbor's rottie mutt looks more like a rottie than the ones parading dog shows... another breed down the drain...

+BullyBadAssTV I was lucky enough to get a purebred german rottie ( black and mohagany) for 300$ couldn't turn down a puppy for that price! I had lost my other beloved rottie( my absolute favorite dog!) due to mast cell cancer in 2012 so when I saw brandy( then 6 weeks) in the paper at that price I went to the breeder. I let brandy choose ME.. met the parents.. and am currently freinds with brandy's breeder.

I have a male and female Rottie. 10 months and eleven months old. The male walks well off leash, heals nicely and is not prone to be easily distracted. The female is getting better but is not there yet. She gets distracted easily, other dogs, kids (she loves children), bikes, joggers etc. we work with both at the local walking path as often as we can. The female is more territorial and protective of our home/us. Each very different personalities. Just wonderful dogs

@ahd59517 жыл бұрын
Nev Singh Both are great dogs but both have dominant behaviour so you need to put a lot of work in to gain alpha status. Both are great with children and both are powerful. They have brilliant guarding instincts and early socialisation is a must. Also both could be potentially as dangerous as each other if they aren't trained and disciplined right
@kierafitzgerald80627 жыл бұрын
My neighbour has a rottie who is wonderful, but very boisterous and stubborn. It takes a lot of man power to control him when he's excited, but because they socialized him young and consistently, he just wants to play with other dogs and give people kisses. An unfortunate thing to keep in mind that isn't mentioned in this film in great detail, is how prone to hip or elbow dysplasia they are. My neighbour's rottie for example just turned one and already has elbow dysplasia. Because the pure bred gene pool is so limited, more and more rotties and other large breeds are ending up with these problems. This is of course extremely expensive and is a life long issue to get at such a young age. Something to keep in mind about shepherds - they are easy to train, and also very easy to screw up. Both breeds can be wonderful, but need firm consistent handling. Socialize the crap out of them young - everyday, let them meet as many (nice) dogs as possible. There are so many shepherds or other big dogs I come across who are "leash aggressive" or "don't like intact males" this is rubbish if you socialize them properly. I understand that some people get rescues with these issues, but as long as you start them young on basic obedience, training and socialization, both can be wonderful dogs.
