The Rottweiler is a robust working breed of great strength descended from the mastiffs of the Roman legions. A gentle playmate and protector within the family circle, the Rottie observes the outside world with a self-assured aloofness.

The rottweiler definitely does not deserve it's bad reputation. Working at a kennel I've met so many rottweilers and not a single one of them has been vicious, in fact they've all been big, lovable, clowns. They are big, strong, intimidating looking dogs but they're actually very comical. They are however very loyal and protective of their loved ones, which is a good thing. If a rottweiler forms a bond with you, it will fight to the death to protect you. Sorry if I'm rambling but I love rotti's 😊

My experience with my rottie who has a little mix and a truly rescued baby at age 4 is the best most loving, smart charming baby I have ever known. Yes he had issues, never socialized, great fears, caged for 10 hrs plus daily with 1/2 cup water and God only knows what else. Now 10 he is one great dog! I loved all of my dogs. But Nelson is so great!

My friend John had a Rottie in his Liquor store. The dog knew the store, the building and the family were his . He had his own fan club of the kids in the neighborhood and the respect of all the noisy teenagers. I loved to scratch all the places he could not.

i got my holly and molly when they were just very young pups. molly was 12 1/2 when cancer got her. 95 pound of nothing but love. i took them places and they got to see do and smell many new things, and people. so they loved to go for a drive. as they know all the attention they would get were we went. and yes a couple kids tried to get into my house one night. they ran and jumped over the fence real fast when my dogs popped there heads through the vertical blinds at the patio door. but when i was around the world was golden. and so were they.

I had a Rottweiler named Zack back in the 90s. I was living in Hollywood Hills, there are many trails in the area. He loved the hill and city life. I worked in the studios and hung out on 'The Strip", and he was with us as much as possible. Everyone knew and loved Zack. He was a local celebrity and got free drive-thru food all the time. A stranger was his new best friend. He even helped a few people get over their fear of dogs. But, the down side was: 1) He HATED other dogs. He never got physically aggressive with one but possibly would've eventually. 2) DROOL. 3) A bed hog. But thats all big dogs I think. Overall he was the best dog I ever had. He did eat the arm off a couch (very expensive couch). And I mean ate it, not just chewed on it. But that was our fault for leaving him alone for more than 4 hours lol.

I have a 3 year old Rottie. He is the best and most gentile dog I have ever had. He is cuddled next to me now. I trust and love him more than most people. He is my best friend and my right hand when SHTF. Edit: 1 month later he is 110 pounds, not the biggest of Rottie’s but god is he strong. I just introduced him to my new grand daughter. He excitedly sniffed her, looked at me wondering what this small human was all about and laid down next to her. When her father went to pick her up, my boy made everyone very aware that he was on the job, and she was under his protection. There were no issues since he loves my son in law, but he was watching. He is the gentlest of dogs, but you may be in peril if you threaten his family. I wish people were as loyal as dogs.

We had a male named Bubba, got him when he was 6 weeks old. Best dog we’ve ever had, when he was about 6-7 months we signed up for training, personal not group. We did that so we knew he could always behave, have control of him. They are very strong, he was also very affectionate, loved his family. He was a “house dog”, (all my animals are always in the house) many nights he slept in our bed (Cal king size bed). We recently lost our Jack Russell (brain hemorrhage, he was older)a couple months ago & considering another Rottie but not a puppy this time. Kinda looking for a rescue adult female. We still have our female “Chiweenie” Jenny.

I have had a female Dogo Argentino Rottweiler mix since she was 4 wks and 2 days old...she is 7 mo and 9 days old and she has surpassed all my expectations...she is unbelievably awesome in every way, extremely loving, very protective since about 5 months old...very athletic for a 70 lb pup...she loves to work/ play and absolutely adores my 6yr old red nose female pit rescue, they play all the time 😊and my mixed Pit male loves her, he's 5 and a half and will sire my own custom breed as long as all the health checks on both are perfect,my rescue cat 5 yrs old sleeps on her arm... unbelievable and my 12 yr old rabbit raised all of them and he absolutely adores Irie my DogoRott...I had a Cane Corso show lines 150 lbs... excellent guard dog and companion but he didn't have much stamina and alot of drool but id take him back in a second if he was here again...he took his last breath in my arms and I will forever love him and all the animals in the world...they are angels 😇 from Heaven to help us through this earth journey...they give us sooooo much... unconditional love ❤️ what more could you ask for...I bred game bulldogs in the 90s and early 2000s...I with the LORD willing i will definitely like to aquire a Pure working lines Rottie and Dogo Argentino and i was purposely cross them and do purebreds... Irie Sunset has been a huge blessing to our pack1❤️ and blessings to all creation 🙏🙏🙏 Rastafari Sellasie1 🌱🌱🌱🔥🔥🔥🐕🐕🐕🐱🐰🚴🏍️🏄🍍🦁🦁🦁🤙😎😎😎💯💯💯 RESPECT 💯🙏🙏🙏

They’re sweeties! Good training is a must but other than that, they’re kind and loving dogs with a goofy sense of humor. The only other thing is that you fall for them, but like so many large dogs, they don’t live as long as smaller dogs, so they break your heart 💔

I just adopted my 18 month old Rotty from my son who was no longer allowed to have a pet in his new rental. I've had Oakley now for about 3 weeks. I've never been a dog owner. But I feel so attached to him already so I find myself looking at Rotty KZbin videos. Any advise to a new dog owner would be much appreciated.

Number 3 have a strong bite, and they like to bite lol. I disagree about the aggression, it is misunderstood. Very social animal and easy to train. But you can make any dog mean. Will say you will have to stay in charge at all times as they are like children and will try you. My dog is seeing how many pieces of furniture it can clear in one jump. I may need help with this one lol. Grooming is event as she does not always want brushed. Triming of nail is actually easier than brushing lol. I have the best vet in the area and have taken her advice to heart. I will say train train train, then train the dog.

You didn't say anything about their talking. When they talk it sounds like they're going to tear somebody apart but it's just the way they talk and you need to make people understand this. This is very important and I don't know why you aren't putting this in there! These dogs are misunderstood a lot of times because of the way they talk and you are not doing anything to help them.

@@edytasakai I was holding my dog in it's neck collar and sitting at the side of our car garage when my dad upon entering his classic beetle car, it's wheel tire accidentally hit it's tail and in split second bit my left hand because of the pain and went locked on it for more than 10 mins. Inside it's mouth while wagging it and grinding it. I was literally lying on the ground of our car garage while my dog was doing it. I did not fight or force him to let go to minimize the damage because the more you apply force or hit the dog like this type of breed the more damage they do unto you. Good thing dad found a way by holding both of it's ear's at the same time and lifting it up and called it's name. After saying it's name that's the only time it came to it's senses as I can see it from his eye and let go of my left hand. The damage was so bad because you can literally see the bones and it was already numb. I got 30 injections from my 3 session. The last session was the most injection I had, 26 with seconds only interval of each one without anesthesia. Just count all the teeth of the dogs (upper and lower). There is a dosage depending on your weight so the extra medicine was injected on my legs. It was so painful I was shouting in the hospital and people there got really afraid of it so later on I put a face towel on my mouth to minimize the sound. My dog Lucky ( which a got unlucky ) was a cross breed of Rottweiler and Labrador. His physical appearance, built and strength is just like a Rottweiler minus the black color on its skin. He was freckingly stronger and more aggressive than my Mix German Shepherd and Belgian Malinois right now.
