The content you made as a youngster on screw boxes and building your bench were top notch. I reference them all the time. I’m curious to see what content you’re going to be producing now.

Wow, thanks for sharing that, it's encouraging and inspiring to me to hear that those 'old' videos of mine continue to impact others positively. I hope my new content continues in that vein.

I watched your tap and screw videos often when I was preparing for my bench. Also took inspiration from your end vise to build my own. Thanks for all the hard work you put in when starting out. Excited that you have re-imagined your presence on KZbin - glad to see you back!

I think you were my first subscription. When I saw the new channel name I thought KZbin was making me part of their algorithm. 😂. I never made a wood screw but I did build a split top bench that I cut down and milled. Good update.

Yes.. Saw all of your videos years ago. Just watched the bench playlist again with this recent video.. Thanks for the Screw thread videos. Not sure why it popped up on my feed, but, when it did, I immediately recognized it and watched it again.. I was sort of shocked to find a new and updated video... Glad to see you are back.. And, the workbench looks great after 13 years. Especially in a garage.. Congrats.!

Its so weird only 2 nights ago i watched your ‘old’ video on your tail vice again as i’m in the process of building mine for my solid top Roubo work bench! Thanks for the follow up video, its great to hear your thoughts on what you like and would do differently. Fortunately i’m using a 30mm metal rod and screw for my vice so i shouldn’t have those seasonal issues with the thread! Keep up the great videos.

I watched your video's then about the bench and making wooden screws and nuts and every video you actually posted. I seem to remember you had a different shop when you had finished that bench, or the shop filled up, as they all do. I am starting my first bench now at pushing 57, I have chosen the Anarchist workbench by Chis Schwartz but and will include a leg vise and will be adding a wagon vise from the very beginning. Funny you mentioned width and height though. I have chosen the Paul Sellers height for the bench I will build of 38" to start and 2 books I have from 1901 and 1918 both list those heights as the normal, but width seems never to have been the same. I am torn on width but am leaning towards 26'ish wide. with a small French tool rack on the back left directly opposite the face vise. I am going with Southern Yellow Pine. And yep, guess whose plans I am going to try to use to make my screws with? I welcome you back, you were outstanding in your instruction as a young man, and now I know you are more experienced I will gain some more insight and knowledge!!
@TheWoodlore21 күн бұрын
Thanks for sharing Donnie! I very happy you found the videos helpful, and thanks for the warm welcome back 🙂 The Anarchist workbench is a good design, and the wagon vise will be a great addition. 26" sounds like a good width and it makes sense to start taller when you can easily shorten the legs on that bench design. I would love to see your bench when you finish it!
