I bought this knife after seeing your video, didn't know it existed as a daddy barlow. Being mainly a Case guy I do have other brands as well. This knife is just about perfect imho. I have had good luck with Marbles stuff so far and this knife is no exception. Appreciate the heads up.

They’ve gone way heavier on the black on the buckshot. Hey, that’s the classic carbon shield on there, isn’t it? - it’s just 440, no? Don’t have a giant Barlow yet. Pretty big knife! I like the coral snake, though it’s a bit bright. Nice short, strong blade. A coping blade would have been nice, instead of two pens. Dig the split back springs. Thanks for the look at the new models!

The Coral Snake Whittler doesn’t tickle me but I NEED that Buckshot Granddaddy Barlow 😍. I just hope it’s released for the UK market. Great review brother 👍.

Nice sticker! I just wish they would hurry up and retire that big R and stop putting shields on Barlows. I love the buckshot bone! I like that they went with a standard Clip with the recurve. on the Whittler this time instead of the Wharncliffe. This was also a knife that was in the Case line up for a very short time! I'm might grab the whittler in spite of the "R" Hoping the Sowbelly shows up. It was in the old Colt line up. Word of warning, the Jumbo Stockman will probably have some lazy snap in the sheepfoot blade. It is what it is. Still a cool knife.

Hmmmph, not sure why they went away from the wharncliffe main blade. It was one of the things I liked most about the RR whittler pattern. The Granddaddy Barlow was the Big Daddy Barlow last release. His kids must of had kids in the meantime. I do like the buckshot handles.

My Coral Snake Whittler has ridiculously weak pen blades (pulls are maybe a 1 or 2, the weakest I’ve experienced on any RR model, and that’s after cleaning and oiling). Also oddly, when I open and then close either pen blade, it makes the center brass spacer on the main blade pivot end of the knife stand slightly proud of the stainless springs that flank it. With my fingernail I can push that central spacer back down, making it flush again with the springs. I’ve heard that a split-back whittler main blade, because it’s running off of 2 springs, will usually hav a stronger pull than the secondary blades, but the weird movement of the central brass spacer is something I’ve never encountered. Still, considering the price, it’s no biggie. I for one like the scales.

I like both of those knives. I am not a huge fan of the Coral snake colors I have been wanting to pick up a split back whittler. Nice review, you may have just hurt my wallet! 🤣🤣
