This is the first of your videos that has been suggested to me. Subscribed! There is everything I like about it (with one exception) the skills involved, the humour, the self deprecation, the tempo of the video. Everything. Except the black stain. Now, skill is universal whilst taste is personal. So, if a client wants and likes a deep black finish, then good for them. It’s just not for me. I am working on a piece now which will have the oak legs finished in Natura charcoal. It is not solid black but rather allows the grain of the oak to be apparent. And that pleases me. But, taste is personal. Really pleased that Natura Onecoat is now your go-to. I only found out it also from the Wood Whisperer video and contacted the makers (as it wasn’t available here in the UK). They kindly sent me a sample. As you say, quality is great and the price brilliant. I love the easy pour cans (just seen that the can of wax oil you used must have been old stock with a conventional lid. All product now has the same kind of easy pour as the hardener can) which really help accurate measuring and eliminate runs down the sides of the cans. Natura (owned and run by chemical engineers) tell me that Natura will not skin over. Will not. That’s a real plus for me as I have had to throw away cans of Rubio because I had used some of the contents; spilled some on the lid groove; couldn’t get an air tight seal; found our next time that I had a thick skin on the wax oil - and threw away many pounds (sterling) worth into the rubbish bin. That hurt.

@adkwoodandresin10 ай бұрын
So this was a thin divider and i needed to be very careful not to drill through the whole thing. I feel like the bigger drill bits are "grabbier", reducing some of the control I have over how deep it goes. And for some reason I can never get the stop collars to securely seat on my bits - I feel like they always slip backwards.
