I'll be honest, when I first heard Kunai's voice, my heart actually sank. I 100% knew that voice, I knew that PL and she didn't really strike me as someone who'd be able to get locked down into the kind of corpo censorship that one might expect. Thing is much of what is needed is good titles and thumbnail on KZbin, most VTubers, like the one's on Twitch don't put enough effort into crafting great thumbnails or Titles (especially the titles). A good titles that generates interest can seriously blow up exponentially as people see the video click like, and that pushes the video out even further.

Reading between the lines, Kunai debuted on 27th October 2023. Her contract will have been signed some time before that, like, sometime in the previous month. Nijien doesn’t seem to put a lot of effort into growing their newer nijien waves. Like at all. The Iluna wave and onward was kind of the wave where it became really noticeable that established nijien talents weren’t helping newer talents get started or grow. Lazulight, obsidia, and ethyria seem to be a content bubble that help each other but don’t promote or collab with newer talents in their company in any meaningful way. With other companies like phase connect and hololive you see a lot more older established talents promoting new gens debuts, even doing watch alongs, and organizing collabs with them shortly after to get them out there. The newer nijien waves don’t even get the subs and viewers that those would bring in just by being associated with the company and interacting with existing talents. Not surprised she’s leaving when you have no real support from other livers to grow together besides “hey remember we talked off stream that time or few times”.

ugh nijisanji turned from a great place to grow have community and fun to literal nightmare in every way possible, livers don’t get anything from company, because company is busy glazing luxium? idk how they called. people literally end up having less recognition and subs then they had in previous life not to mention all the stray hate punches that roll their way through endless niji drama. occasional toxic working environment also helps ig. it will take a long time till niji will recover and gain it’s face back, i hope they do for the better of fans and livers in that company.
