hey uh... hi. this is the purrely player here. im going to be brutally honest. being the round 1 feature majorly stressed me out... i kept forgetting stuff constantly. hell. i barely knew what the hell rescue-ace did. i put in the feature match as a joke and just so happened to get it... and yes i am so hella embarrassed over this... and and even then, i had no idea who quantal was before this. and for S:P... yeah. i kinda pulled it during pre-release so i kinda forgot some bits about it. i really only entered the ycs to have fun but ended up just... ruining everything and getting told i was being mocked for it... definitely ruined my mood for the whole weekend. and to note, i have really only been playing for a year... if it wasnt obvious by how i acted on stage... so... i guess sorry for the shitty show match...? edit a few hours later: thanks for the supprtive replies and constructive criticism about my play. i go to locals almost every weekend, and i really only prepped for Unchained and Tear, and completely forgot about Rescue-ACE until the drive to the YCS.

Yeah, unfortunately, many people take pleasure in other people's misfortune (probably to distract from their own miseries). Anyone with a brain (and luckily there were a few) could see what you wrote on their own. So don't let those negative comments get you down, after all it was a bit funny (and not in a bad way, more in a comedic way). Cheer up my friend, see you at the next feature :)

You looked more than great on the feature match, at least coming from a viewer, and I'd argue the people who tried dissing you at all is more than likely them projecting their saltiness because they weren't featured. Everyone likes to think they'd play perfect on the feature match to show what they can do, but the nerves and all eyes on you will affect almost ANYBODY with how they play, especially if it's your first time. I really hope it's gotten better the past day or 2 because nobody deserves any sort of hate for sequencing plays a certain way, just because it's suboptimal. Hopefully this can be a positive experience in the future to where you can say, even though it was a draw, that: "I didn't lose to the MD world champ ON STREAM" 😁

Look, I'm gonna be honest here, you should definitely read more cards and learn what other decks do even if you're playing casually or for fun. It makes the experience better for everyone involved. Also, you should probably work on your anxiety. (please don't take meds for them. They don't help.) Just go to locals more often and have a friend group to play test at least once or twice a week. It's a serious confidence booster. Lastly, definitely play a bit faster. Sure it's just a card game but you don't know if the person across from you stayed up late hours of the night to prepare for a big event only to start the day out in a draw. Slow players are the bane of anyone's existence in this game. And really, it just takes practice to get better and recognize things faster. You'll get there but you gotta put that work in.

Nah he deserves it cause those plays were terrible. You should really read more cards before you go to a YCS of all events. It's not even because they were terrible. He was playing slow too

Yeah unfortunately purrely player misplayed a lot, they didn’t try to turbo search the field spell and didn’t hold happy to not lose to extinguish.

Ik the guy, he does tend to slow play, but he told us that he was just so nervous since its a feature match so cant 100% blame him. Tho i do hate purrely so...

I remember looking at this live and almost screamin at the tv .. if I flew from Europe to play against that purley player I would have lost my mind .. the “sorry I didn’t no I was slow playing “ I would be like no your just slow yourself… Even at 1.5 speed the pace was slow

I can't believe the judges let the round go when dude was just taking to the judges to kill time instead of passing to his opponent, who could've had a way to burn for game. Are we really ignoring this?
