Oh you are surrounded by such beauty, I am so happy for you, it seems actually quite similar to my property with the same plants. You could trim alot of the lilac brush away and shape them into umbrella trees. I would love to see inside the home. What a wonderful new start for you.!!!

Thanks for your kind words! ❤️ Yes, I guess the lilacs need a proper trim. Umbrella trees, sounds interesting! I can’t imagine what that would look like?! 🌞

It really is! But I´ll stay away from vegetables the first year, I don´t want the wildboars to visit before I get a proper fence...

What a beautiful Homestead! Such lush, green grass! I wonder if those lilac bushes were planted there to help catch the snow? They might keep your doorway and pathway to the barn clear in the wintertime. If there was an old man living there before, that's what I would guess. I agree with the other folks saying you should look into fixing the grill. You frightened me when you looked into that hole in the ground- we always have to be on the lookout for rattlesnakes here, lol. Thankfully, we don't have wild pigs. I'll be curious to see your well. I hope everything will work for you eith getting that going. We bought our place specifically because it had a well and we wouldn't have to haul water. I can't wait to see the inside of your home. It's so darling from the outside. ❤❤

Thank you! I don´t think the lilacs make a huge difference there, but eventually I´ll plant other things there, and they should stop snow drift as well if needed. Luckily we don´t have any rattlesnakes here, but a badger that seem friendly enough. The well will probably be next years problem/project, the winter is here soon, and doing wet things are not nice in cold weather. As for now we bring drinking water in big containers. It works out ok. I have a video of the interior of the house, don´t know if you saw it yet?

@@myswedishcottagegarden I had to chuckle when you said a friendly badger. American Badgers are the devil and I'd be afraid of finding something like that in a hole over here, too, lol. From what I've seen and heard, your European Badgers are much more civilized. I'll be curious to see your well videos and how it's done in Europe. It's very arid where I live, so a well is a nice thing to have. As I mentioned, our property had a well and that's why we bought our place. Having just a cistern and having to haul water is a huge chore we didn't want to have, especially with livestock. I just saw your video of your interior of your home and it's darling. Trust me, I gushed about it in the comment section, lol. I'll be curious to see your winter lifestyle videos, too. I'm glad to see you have a fireplace and can just imagine how cozy it would be.

The property is lovely, so open and full of light! A very exciting day to get your keys. Thanks for the tour, so many charming details: the outhouse, the outdoor kitchen, the huge lilac bushes. They will smell incredible in the spring :) Maybe you could trim their foliage from the ground up, to about 6 feet or so. Then you could have your view without losing those well established bushes. Looking forward to seeing the inside too. There are many things you could do: replace the BBQ with a wood burning stove/pizza oven, trim the berry bushes and the rhubarb - they look healthy. SO many possibilities so enjoy and take your time with your planning. How about some bees? Or maybe a nice dog :) Good luck!

Thank you for your thoughts! This is a project that will take its time and I think I´ll just let the garden show me the way. I have a few ideas of what to start with, and some are on it´s way. Stay tuned :-) I hope you saw the video of inside of the house I posted a week ago? The outdoor kitchen will probably be remade some how next year. But who knows, it might take longer. There are so many ideas, and so little time...

Very beautiful countryside around your cottage 😍 Surprised to hear there are wild boar in Sweden…France, yes, but Sweden? Would a fence keep them out? (I know that would be expensive.) Are you thinking of growing vegetables also? Was hoping to see inside your barn…it is quite big. How did you come to buy this house…were you living in the city before? Sorry if there are too many questions 🤪
@myswedishcottagegarden2 жыл бұрын
Yes there are! I saw a huge wild boar running infront of my car just outside the cottage. It was quite intimidating... Electric fences usually keeps them out, but it needs continuous weeding around it to keep the effect. At the moment I don´t dare to grow vedgetables, since they might tempt the beasts to come into the garden. Maybe in the future if I have a good fence. In my next video you´ll se a bit of the barn. I have been looking for a good cottage for years, (did you see the video about that?) and suddenly I found the right place. I have been living in a city area for many years, but with a small allotment garden.
