I am so grateful for your reviews. I am 72 with skin assaulted by chemo. My 44 year old daughter has different skin problems but we both have rosacea. I have always loved makeup but several years ago my daughter and I looked at each other and declared we are done with cheap drugstore makeup and it’s cheap irritating ingredients. What I did today was put the illuminating tinted moisturizer from Laura mercier and then blended about 1/2 a pump of the new Charlotte tilbury foundation. It looked amazing! I can do both separately but I would wear them less. Combined, I can wear them more frequently. They end up looking glowy, yet with med to full coverage.

I stopped by the Michigan Ave Saks store over the weekend and they don’t have the Sisley foundation in yet nor do they have samples / just three bottles of random colors. Hi Michele. my favorites right now are the Tom Ford Flawless Glow foundation, Pat McGrath (same shade as the one you reviewed) & La Mer. I must say I did not expect to love the Tom Ford or Pat McGrath as much as I do but think they look beautiful. I have dry, mature skin (I am 56 years old). Your reviews of the Sisley & Guerlain foundation were making me want to run out & buy them but I am going to try and get through what I have for now. Thanks for the video! 💗

I have dry skin and I was amazed at how beautiful the new shiseido foundation was -1 drop for a lighter coverage, 2 for full- Less than I would normally wear with others I have tried. Powder is also wonderful -packaging only allowing a dusting of powder so for those who don’t want to overdo and waste powder. Concealer -I found too heavy for the undereye but great for a touch up on darker, problem spots. I really think you would like this foundation and was curious how this would rate among the others you have tried.

I did an intense 2 hour dance practice in my Sisley phyto foundation and it didn’t budge. It was very hot in the studio and I was soaked when I finished. Although I was very dewy, it did not melt off.

Weiran Yang ~ I just started using it and love it. I’m oily in my t-zone. If I may ask, do you powder over it? If so, what powder do you use. (I have both Chantecaille powders, loose and HD pressed, but those show on my extremely pale skin.) I’m awaiting Tom Ford’s Translucent powder. Any input is appreciated.

Tammy Woods Hi Tammy, I powder over it lightly as I love being on the matte side. I normally use la prairie (original) translucent powder in light all over the face. PCMA transparent powder will be very invisible if you have pale skin. There’s a Japanese brand Elegance that makes very oil control pressed powder, #6 in the range was very pale for me, I use as a subtle highlight, you might find it perfect for setting powder.

I totally agree on the full coverage...i just can’t do it any more, even though I have some residual melasma that I’d like to cover, I’ll choose it over the wrinkle exacerbation! I just feel and look better with a lighter coverage. The Surrat has me really intrigued...very compelling... i was going to order the new Anastasia one...but now you’re swaying me... the amount of foundations popping up is truly overwhelming but I’m so glad I’ve been somewhat practicing restraint and waiting to hear what my fave youtubers have to say. Thanks so much this was a Great overview & comparison of your in-depth foundation videos!!! I have normal to dry skin, I LOVE the new Surratt foundation & I had pretty much the same experience as you with the Kevyn Aucoin balm. Since I like lighter coverage I figured I could use the Kevyn Aucoin lightly where I needed it then blend it out to nothing but no matter what I did it was either looking very patchy or like a mask on my skin!! I really like a good cream foundation, that’s really why I tried it, but it was way too full coverage & seemed to sit on top my skin. Thanks again for the Great video!!!

thanks michele for the great roundup ! having seen so many conflicting reviews about the pat mcgrath foundation, i did not plan on getting it, but then the sephora sale happened and i thought, why not just try it since it’s on sale.... and i love it ! i was so surprised. my skin is very different from yours, being normal /combination with a slightly more oily t-zone around mid-day, so i love your reviews to get a feel of how foundations behave in general. i did suspect it would work better on non-dry skins, but the shade (13) was a fantastic match, the finish was lovely and the longevity was good. I use it with my sisley loose powder in irisée and it’s a great pairing. the other great surprise for me was the sisley phyto teint éclat : not so much in its performance although i was also surprised that it worked so well on my skin, seeing how it tends to be dry-skinned reviewers testing it ! the surprising thing was the shade, because i was matched to the same shade as you and Abby, which i was so sure would be too light for me. it is a little cool on my skin but still works fine. i’ve a tester of 2+ Sand which i should really try soon, to see if it’s a better match. your laura mercier tinted moisturisers are the exact shades i have, and i often mix them together as well, to add a little more glow into the otherwise normal tinted base. i’m wondering if the sulwhasoo cushions all fit the same packaging - if you’re really not keen on the intense version, maybe get a refill of the one you wish to try and pop it in the case ?

What you say about the sulwhasoo cushion reminds me of some of my sunscreens, although they're dedicated sunscreen that rubs in clear, in contact with water or sweat, it sort of lifts up and appears chalky. so I'm also convinced thats what happens with your cushion. I wonder if that would be better used as a sunscreen touch up throughout the day? I know Kinkysweat touches up with a high SPF cushion so just throwing it out there.

Hi Michelle! A quick question if you get around to it - the #3 TS dew-drop, I too used both the 3 & 4 in the 'click' version - I did order the #3 and find it to be quite light (I'm usually same color as yourself) - did you 'need' the 4 as well to make it work or? I want to get it 'right', I'm in Toronto and have to go through Beautylish - so not wanting to buy/send back.........also being twice the $$......so, bottom line, do you think the 4 helps? Or would 6 be possibly a better choice? Thanks - and have a great day! Elaine xx N.B. Also the Sisley - it's still on the camel's back plodding to get here, prob stuck at the border - is the #3 color working for you? Hi! So the 3 works if I want to match my neck which is so much lighter than my face. 4 probably looks more natural, but is still too light for my forehead which is the darkest. I would say 6 would prob be the best match for my forehead. So it really depends on which direction you want to go. Bring it down your neck, or bronze up your face. I feel like I can always do a fairly large range, but depends on how I want to fix the discrepancy.

Hi Michele, Boy was I surprised to see you do a new foundation review, but this was fun. I loved the old formula of the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, so I hope this new one works the same. Hi Michele, sorry I know this is a old video but I was just so surprised that you wear shade 6 in the Pat McGrath! We share a few foundation shade matches and I matched to the Sublime Fetish in shade 13. Edit: I also hated the Pat McGrath primer. I’ve tried it with a few foundations and I didn’t like it at all.

Thanks for a great comparison of these newly released foundations. I recently picked up a new foundation, Sensai Cellular Foundation, that i think is exceptional. Its a Japanese brand thats only available in Europe, not in the U.S, but its one of the best that I have tried. I really appreciate your reviews, especially since we wear the same shades in foundation.

Great review where would the Shiseido syncho self refreshing Foundation come on I saw your review of it and bought it and I think it’s my new holy grail at present Rodial Diamond Foundation is my holy grail. I am waiting for the Surratt dew drop to arrive to see where that one lands.

Curious, with so many choices at your disposal, on days you're not testing foundation, how do you decide which to use? Obviously, a tinted moisturizer for out the door and maybe medium coverage when you have a big night out, something that isn't in glass for travel, and something lighter in texture for hotter weather, and maybe something more moisturizing when you're skin feels especially dry. But, within each of these criteria, you must have a lot of choices. So, is it a rotation or I haven't used this in ages or whatever you're loving until you get tired of it. Although I have several foundations that I should throw out, I have only 4 in rotation, one for warm weather, one for normal to cold weather, a tinted moisturizer with SPF for times I am going out an hour or less before sunset and don't want to use SPF and finally a CC cream with high SPF for a quick makeup application.

There’s something about the Guerlain L’essential foundation - I get compliments when I wear it. The foundation + meteorites perles make for an amazing glowy look. What disappoints me with Guerlain is the parabens in their primers and the BHT in their lipsticks.

Thanks for rounding all of these up. I really like the Surratt Dew Drops. My only issue is that there aren't any neutrals until you get to 6.5 which is a beige but looks pretty dark. I have shade 3 which is too light. I can make it work by bronzing up my face. Shades 4 & 5 are too yellow. I may get 6 which looks too dark but at least it isn't yellow and mix it with 3. But the foundation really is pretty. I really like the CT but every single shade runs very yellow no matter what letter is after the number. I have to mix it with another foundation to be able to wear it. I also have the Guerlain which is beautiful. I don't even want to talk about the Kevyn Aucoin balm which I should not have purchased. Surprisingly I really like the new Fenty hydrating foundation and the Fenty hydrating primer. I Love the new ABH Luminous Foundation. Both the Fenty and ABH do very well on my dry mature skin. Thank you again for going over all of these foundations.

Ugh, we don’t have the same skin type (in combo/oily & lean oily in the summer, mid-30s) so i know better than to think that something that works for you will work for me. But i can’t help it! I see u try & love things and i NEEEED to try it too! So that new Surrat foundation is going in my cart even tho - i know deep down - it’s unlikely to agree w my oily skin 🤣

Jenny Ashton I can help 😂 I have same skin type as you and these are the ones michele and I both use and love: westman atelier stick foundation, Tom Ford stick foundation. Sisley tinted cream. For fuller coverage I like Dior air flash and Estée Lauder double wear. Use a good primer! My favorite that michele likes too is the guerlain lor. Hope this helps!

I hope I can help, too. I'm 40 with combo skin, but used to be super oily. I've been using the Surratt Dew Drop foundation for a few days now and must say that it doesn't work for me, if I put too much skincare beneath it. Just "glides" right off my face then. Reminds me of my oilier skin days when this happened to me all the time with pretty much every foundation, except for very mattyfing ones. You can powder the "slippyness" down, but the foundation might not look as dewy then. I honestly don't really think that the Surratt foundation is perfect for oily skin. If you still want to try it, I'd recommend to not use too much skincare beneath it and use a sticky primer before applying the foundation. That said: I'm loving the foundation. Works perfectly fine for my combo skin, as long as I don't use too much skincare beforehand.

I do have the Tom Ford stick and i love it, my only qualm is sometimes it can feel slightly on the heavy side but i deal cuz it’s such a beautiful finish & one of the best undertone matches I’ve found for my skin. Maybe I’ll try the Dior Airflash next time I’m at Sephora! Good to hear in advance that the Surratt won’t work well for oily gals. A pity, cuz it does look lovely :)

Thanks, Michele. It is so helpful to hear how you feel about the products after the initial review. The Surratt Dew Drop Foundation is the most intriguing to me out of this group. I have been on quite the foundation bender lately, finding so many that I love (Cle De Peau The Foundation, Westman Atelier, Tom Ford Traceless Stick Foundation). My current favorite is the Guerlain L'Essential -- it just hits all the right notes for me.

I have combo skin and usually wear Armani maestro - do alcohol does not bother me. I bought the Pat McGrath and I LOVE it. I don’t have the primer I use Laura Mercier radiant primer and my Dior powder works lovely

This was really helpful in deciding to purchase the new Sisley Phyto-Eclat. I used the old formulation in Soft Beige years ago. I then bought the tinted sunscreen in Natural and most recently the Sisley Le Teint in Organza. I also have Chantecaille Future Skin in Ivory which I love as well. I saw that you have Chantecaille bronzer on again. Are you wearing the Goa or Sirena?

The radiance of the Surratt is more refined. The TF glow foundation starts to look very shiny about midday.

If you have sensitive/acne prone skin, be careful with the Guerlain essential. It broke my face out, and I think it is the fragrance in there that did so. I smelled it for hours even after application and during the work day. The lingere de peau is beautiful and I highly recommend it over the newer one.

The Surrat looks fantastic on you in this video. It looks like you have a Tan. You look younger with a slightly darker shade of foundation. Plus.. the darker shade makes your other products(lipstick, blush, eyes, etc.) Look better. 😊
