sir in class 11th and 12th chem n phy rules are given there we are taught that round off 2.365= 2.36 and 2.355= 2.36 the rule says if that :- if the preceding digit is even, the insignificant digit is simply dropped and, if it is odd, the preceding digit is raised by 1. Then, the number 2.745 rounded off to three significant figures becomes 2.74. On the other hand, the number 2.735 rounded off to three significant figures becomes 2.74 since the preceding digit is odd. PLEASE CLARIFYYY................

If there is not mentioned anything You can take any move to decimal place From your example 892.75 1. Let say move to 1 decimal place Then looking at the second place after decimal that is 5 which is equal to 5 Therefore 892.75 Upto 1 decimal place is 892.8 2. Let say move to 2 decimal places Then looking at the third place after decimal that is 0 which is less than 5 So therefore 892.75 upto 2 decimal places is 892.75 Both (1) and (2) are correct...
