my sweet husband, God rest his soul, would turn this on and cry. His heart was so HUGE...so I bought him a plaque with this saying, "oh what a wonderful world" and hung it over his computer desk. He passed away this past February and now the sign is in my bathroom, where I see it every single day and remember how Rob made his corner of the world beautiful. Thank you, Lord for sending me that most wonderful man! Rest in peace, Robbie, till we meet again--I love you so much, always...and forever.

To go through what he went through, and still come out of it with that optimissim is so insperational. Reminds me of Anne Frank's quote "In spite of all that I have been through,I still believe people are basically good".. @Jeremy Keane I don't think that romance is the most important thing in the world. Think about what we achieved in regards to racism. He would be damn happy to see how much better it got. Sure we still got problems and issues but stop this assumption that the world was better back then cause it was not

This song saved my life. My wife and I had just lost our first born and I had just finished the funeral arrangements. I walked into the neighborhood liquor store and headed to the counter with a "handle jug". The attendant who knew of the situation, looked at me and said " that one and none of the others have any answers". Just then , this song came on and I actually listened to it. It struck a chord in me. It helped me deal with other situations later on in life. I used to be very closed minded and tunnel visioned. This helped me learn to sit back and smell the roses and not go off half-cocked. Thank you , Satchmo have any answers in them" .

I met a cancer survivor once. She defeated leukemia twice in a decade long battle. I saw in her eyes the happiness that brings by just being able to see this beautiful world again. Thats what she told me, to be grateful for every breath of air you take because when you are told you wont live for that long thats when you start missing the real beauty in this world. I only got to speak to her for a small period but she really showed me a new perspective on life. I try to appreciate everything and everyone around me even in tough times. I know i will die someday but till then im living my life to the fullest. You should too.

The greatest song ever written, his words and the lyrics of the song say everything….. ❤️ My father has just passed away and I remember Dad humming this most beautiful song back in the 60’s when it was released, life seamed much easier then, the summers lasted longer the world seamed to have less troubles and people talked to each other with a smile not a clenched fist. Anger, Ignorance, Greed and Fear seem nowadays to be all consuming if we can just flip these over we’d have Happiness, Wisdom, Generosity and Confidence… it’s still a wonderful world though…❤️

@@kitocerra and crying in my room. This is exactly what this song dose to me. Every time I hear it, I can't sing along, because I am crying joy, to such an emotional song. It can't be helped. I remember him on TV, when I was a teenager how pure and honest he sounded. I was in to rock, living in the San Francisco Bay area, I didn't realy listen to pop that much, maybe a little Johnny Cash, for his honesty in country music. But Louis broke down all the walls. It didn't matter if it was pop, but, it was refreshing and honest. Now everyone can see him on u tube and everyone who has a heart ❤, can see him, and listen to the words, of Its A Wonderful World 🌎. @akojiekeyi98543 жыл бұрын
Growing up in the 1970s in rural Nigeria, my father, an elementary school teacher, had this box 'National Panasonic' radio. I heard this eternal song on radio one day: I had never been so mesmerized and enchanted with music. And I was just a kid! The voice sounded so piercing and gripping. I didn't get all the lyrics, but just to hear 'what a wonderful world' 3 times was so powerful and so soothing. Never got to hear it again until some 30 years later, and then, now getting the lyrics clearly, on my own cd, the song became sacred to me. However, I am listening to this version - with this pre-song message from Satchmo himself, for the first time. I feel so emotional, feel pity for this world - this humanity that is going beserk! Look at the issues raised by Lois - way back, and it's getting worse! And for me as a preacher, the solution he proferred resonates with me: LOVE! If there's true love in the hearts of all of us for one another and for the world, that would be it. All issues will be overcome when we feel and care for one another. May God bless the memory of the great Lois.

I just recently remembered this song and now i listen to it all the time. It brings me so much comfort and i always cry everytime i listen to it. Louis Armstrong was in fact adopted by the Jewish Karnofsky family and they bought him his first instrument that led him to sing and create such wonderful songs. If you look at his songs you will notice they have a very Jewish feel to them, for instance "Go Down Moses", "Saint James Infirmary" this song "What a Wonderful World". What many forget is that both Jews and black people were very discriminated against and a Jewish family took him in when he was 7 years old. He even wrote a book about his Jewish family that adopted him in 1907 and he spoke Yiddish. He even wore the star of David until the day he died.

This is actually two versions chopped together here. The spoken word intro is lifted from another musical version for that particular recording - notable for its different shuffle/groove/jazzier laidback take; which IMHO is equally as beautiful as the commercial version. So yeah, this video version chops that spoken word onto the version that every radio station and CD compilation uses. Took some searching on youtube but THIS is the original spoken intro version plus its actual song version, check it out from 1:11mins - kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2rCe4CFo7Kdo9U

This song brings happy tears to my eyes everytime I hear it because it makes me think of my daddy. When he was was stricken with cancer right after retiring, someone asked him why he wasn't bitter. He responded by saying, "I've seen my children grow into good adults, held all my grandchildren in my arms, and left things so my wife will be taken care of. What more could a man want. I've had a wonderful life and can die a happy man."

Happy to learn you are at peace. As long as we are alive, our loved ones are always alive within us. Since 2018, I had a lot of misfortunes come my way. I had to go through a painful separation just 5 months after getting married. Lost 2 of my brothers to covid and lost my dear sweet aunt this May. I have a son I have not seen in 4 years. But I try to get this song's message to heart. Its better that way. Just sharing. I have no one to keep company. Thanks for reading :-)

@honestmark92 Hi. I'm doing good :-) I try to see the bright side of life. I've embraced the stoic philosophy of living. It gets me by through tough times. And I've got The Simpsons for company. Ha ha. Bit of a hardcore Simpsons fan. Thanks for asking. How are you?

I love this song in which I forget for so many years. Haven't heard this song in years, years. Recently My Grandson told he his Kindergarten Graduation class is singing this song. The other day he was singing it and yes I had to hold back a tear. I must re-learn this song to definitely sing along on his graduation. OH YESSSSSSSS. RIP Louis Armstrong, thank you.

My sister fought ovarian cancer for ten years before passing, she did it for her 8 year old son as she didn't want him to grow up without a mother. When her son turned 18 she had to stop chemotherapy as there was no more they could do. She passed 3 months later. This song was played at her celebration of life. God be with you Teri.....

I see trees of green, red roses too I see them bloom for me and you And I think to myself what a wonderful world I see skies of blue and clouds of white The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night And I think to myself what a wonderful world The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky Are also on the faces of people going by I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do They're really saying I love you I hear babies crying, I watch them grow They'll learn much more than I'll never know And I think to myself what a wonderful world Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world
