Bit depth of 16 and 44100 Hz is all you need perceivable for the human ear. Higher bit depths are mainly used for producing music but matter absolutely nothing on consumer level. Regards headphones the same thing applies, you do want to have quality headphones and the ones suggested here are absolutely fine.

i actually bought the dt 770s a year ago i think and theyve done me very well. I believe Otzdarva actually uses them too. I noticed his headphones looked similar recently and I can't unsee it. thank you for the amazing guide! I am curious, with this video being 3 years old, has your recommendation for headset changed? I don't know much about sound technology, although i'd love to learn, so i don't really know what to look for in a headphone. I only bought the dt770s cuz they were recommended to me, and I was told the same thing you said, studio headsets are where its at. I love good headphones not only for gaming but also music, so if you have anything else under that $200 mark id be interested!

You only need something external to amplify your headphones if they are high impedence (above 80ohm) otherwise plugging it into your PC should be enough. The status audio cb1's I recommend you don't need a headphone amp to use

I am so lost, my computer says there's no applocal folder to be found, even after I changed the settings to reveal hidden folders and files. What do I do then?

Hit Windows+R, then type in %localappdata% then hit Enter and you're in your local AppData folder

You mention not using realtek or something like that, but if I turn realtek off, I get no sound at all. Seems like realtek is my audio driver, and windows doesn't recognize my headphones without it. Do you know a way to fix that?

You need to uninstall realtek and install your audio drivers again

@@rousalka4517 So when I uninstalled the realtek drivers, it uh...reinstalled itself automatically lol. Also, where would I install audio drivers after the fact? I have the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro headphones, and no matter where I look in windows, they don't show up as a device. While I'm here, I just wanna say thanks, and that the video helped a lot with audio even in other games.

@@BaneOfSoku I'm honestly not sure how to solve your detection issue, I just know back in the day if I had realtek audio manager like the software suite it would interfere with windows ability to pick up some of my devices. Also I'm glad to hear the EQ helps, really means a lot.

So you say spatial sound sucks. I'm using Dolby Atmos and honestly have a really hard time locating breathe sounds when phasing without it. I get that it lowers my audio quality but I feel I really need it for locating audio. Is this not an issue for you? Also I'd love to hear about your spirit eq, I've been working on one for a long time but it's not where I want it to be I think.

I'd argue these are better then the later one I developed, a bit harsher on the ears but more accurate for imaging.

@@gaaaalaaaaa Spirit is bugged right now, also my video production has been halted for awhileand I finally figured out that my hard drives are failing and that is why I couldn't use my editing suite. I will have to get a new hard drive to put all my recording and editing program on.

Out of curiosity, what is the max AudioQualityLevel you can setting in the ini file? You mentioned it goes beyond 2.

I've set it to 3 and found it just impacted my performance, there are hard caps set in the in game sound design which make anything beyond 2 sort of useless.

not worth it, if you play dbd all the time it's better to have normal sound to enjoy the game. with this it sounds like absolute crap, better to just get good headphones.

You should always do what is more comfortable, a good set of headphones and a good interface will be a firm basis. Also audio at this current time is fucked and footsteps cut off beyond 6 meters lol
