Route History
Route 160 began on 4th May 1938 running between Catford St Dunstans College and Welling operating from Catford Garage. The route remained unchanged for a very long time and was extended to Bexleyheath Garage in 1985 and partly replaced in 1989 by new Route B16, with school journeys to Welling which were withdrawn in 1990 so the 160 was Catford - Eltham.
In 1996 the route was extended from Eltham to Sidcup Station which still remains today and re-routed to Catford Garage in 2000. The route remained unchanged from 2000-2006.
On 16th September 2006 the route transferred from Stagecoach London to Arriva Kent Thameside (Now Arriva London North) at Dartford Garage ending such a long service with Catford Garage, the route was also re-routed to serve Verdant Lane & Sandhurst Road instead of Brownhill Road.
