Route 66 Road Trip Stops in Kansas

Route 66 crosses the corner of Kansas and only stays in the state for around 12 miles. During that time, you can see a few small towns with some historic attractions like the Old Riverton Store, Galena Mining Museum and the Brush Creek Bridge. Most of the stuff was closed when we went through the state but it was still fun to see another state on Route 66 during our two-week journey.

I will echo everyone else’s opinion that your videos are great. We are doing Route 66 this year on bikes. There are lots of good videos on things to do and history, and yours are at the top. Not many videos on the best route and how the route is broken. Any tips on staying on track?

I would recommend the apps in the App Store. There are a few new ones now, but they are probably the easiest way to stay on track who on the route

You didn't explain why so many sites were closed. Permanently? Holiday? Late in the day? Sunday? Without some explanation, it's harder to plan ahead for our trip.

It was just too late in the day for us. Most of them should be open earlier in the day but do check hours before you go

Having driven 66 through Kansas several times, it seems to me a timing issue. A shame… those 13.2 miles of Route 66 are jam packed with great stops.
