Very interesting. The number of trees and the vast quantity of foliage that have appeared during the 16 years or so since I last lived in the area is insane.

My local line. Although unfortunately not a pacer. I miss riding those trains. :/

I think its time the East Lancashire line was due some serious funding .

As one who sometimes uses the station, I am convinced that every train always stops at Burnley Barracks and it is a request stop In name only.

Shame the video was cut short the train didn't even get to Colne

Could do , if not being extended as such across to Skipton , being extended in Colne back towards the estate beyond vivary way, providing a stop in the Reedley Area, adding back the second line at Brierfield Station. Ideally as a tram service tram / train through to Rose Grove or Accrington ( Terminate ), with additonal frequence on the route north from Todmorden taking over the Blackpool / Preston destinations - better for interchange and improved service 20 mins at least from Colne.

That’s odd that the crossing doesn’t come down and let the train go through, the train has to stop and wait for it? Also, why didn’t this end at Colne as it was almost there?

Is there a video going in the opposite direction from Burnley Barracks in the direction of Accrington and Blackburn? Please share a link here 👇

That level crossing is a bit slow to respond no?

I guess the powers-that-be have been prevented from closing it from Barracks to Colne ; Parliamentary trains such as from Stockport ti Stalybridge via Heaton Norris would be an attractive option for some "Beeching-Afficionados'. Reopening to Skipton would be an option but an alternative Blackburn-Clitheroe-Hellifield might be more attractive.

@@class87srule How much traffic (even for connections with Carlisle/Leeds trains) would Hellifield generate ?
@class87srule2 жыл бұрын
@@None-zc5vg Alternative route for those wishing to avoid the wrong-way traipse to and reversal at Blackburn. Civilisation does not end at Blackburn. Clitheroe/Hellifield wasn't even on the radar for years except for freight and specials. The shambles of a crossing at Chaffers shows what tbe transport authorities think of the line past Blackburn. But for Copy Pit it would have closed in the 70s. Skipton-Hellifield is another strategic Pennines /Settle Carlisle corridor.
