Monty, really appreciate the heads up on prep before the router. I was wondering if there was a solution for a cleaner cut. Also, I want to say that I started watching you with my uncle (who was an amazing Luthier in his heyday). We lost him recently but my godson and I are now doing our best to pick up the torch. It may seem silly, but it's given me a chance to create memories with him that wouldn't have happened if not for your channel. Thank you

Great video! I was wondering if having the routor fixed and moving the guitar around gives you more control and helps prevent tearouts and the guitar from skipping?

Hi, Monty. The project is looking great. Maybe, an adaptation, of your, Stewmac, binding routing jig could help you. How about an adapter mounting plate, for the router, to extend the reach, of the router? It could attach to the underside of the existing plate and need only be long enough, for the base of the router to clear the edge of the existing plate and the edge of the body holder to clear the edge of the post. This is, of course, assuming you have the means to cut the aluminum plate and a drill press, to drill the center hole, for the router, and the screw holes. If not, maybe a friend could help? 😁✌🖖
