What a gorgeous car. Best 75 I've seen. Never seen an engine that clean. I hope when I one day return from the far east, I can buy one. The mk 1 looked the best, I feel.

Stunning car mate. I'm on my 4th 75, and 2nd ZT. Not many cars can pull off 2 totally different looks, and be 'the same'.... Also got a P5B Coupe... you can tell the 75 was born from aristocracy....😉😉👍

Many thanks for the kind comments. I've had the car for 10 yrs now, and started out cleaning some of the smaller areas (door catches, engine bay etc) with wire wool, Brasso and the like. I had the car fully Waxoyled throughout to keep the rust at bay, and now take the wheels off once a month or so to deep clean arches and wheel backs. A machine polisher for the paintwork also makes things a lot easier :-). Once it's fully detailed, its surprising how easy it is to maintain.

@@Teflon_75 Wow that must take some dedication. That rich green colour and those Serpent alloys just go so well together, a truly beautiful beast. When I was 19 (only last year), I had a Seafrost Blue 2.0 CDT Connoisseur for a brief but glorious month, who I unfortunately had to give back to the dealer because of their incompetence in sorting-out a failing Clutch Master Cylinder after claiming they'd put a brand new clutch on it. Miss that car everyday, but it did give me some satisfaction to see that when they resold my treasure, they got much less than I'd paid, and almost certainly made an overall loss. Currently on the hunt for my second one - I'm only 20 now, and it'll only be my fourth car - nothing beats the elegance and stately looks of one of these. Proper British design. The market's starting to pick up on just how special they are though, and the price is certainly rising - I'll need to get in there as soon as.

@@Teflon_75 I am looking for a 2.0 CDTI but living in north east England makes it impossible to find one without a long history of mot failures and advisories due to rust...even the 54000 mile on I saw recently was rotten underneath, while looking superb on top

Wow! That is one beauty of a 75. I have an Old English White 75, only got last month and hope to *try* and make her as nice as your one! If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the plate that said "Manufactured by THE ROVER Co. LTD."? And also the plate that said: Rover 75 2.0 V6 Connoisseur Se "The 4th of only 6 rover 75 saloons.." etc

Thanks for the kind comment. The "Manufactured by The Rover Co" plate came from good old Ebay. They're actually intended for series 1 Land Rovers. Not quite the same, but there's one here: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281857182185?epid=1115807741&hash=item419fff49e9:g:AK0AAOSwLzdWSvqt. The other plate was a bespoke item made by a local engraving company.

I have just purchased a Rover 75 2004 facelift version. Not as nice as yours Cliff....But only 93000 on the clock..FSH. Drives beautiful....Its the 1.8 Conni SE. Its so quiet...I have to look at the RPM to see if its still running.

@Wid Eye I have never had any probs with my 75. I drive it daily..Its never let me down. Parts are easy to source. Some rear suspension components are a little pricey.....But basically an easy car to fix. Lets be honest, For an old car...They're an amazing thing to drive. You'll never break any land speed records...But i threw my boy racer hat away some years ago. In a nutshell......A good car that never had the chance to prove itself.

Hi, thanks for the comment :-) Do you mean the trim around the engine bay? That's Black Rubber U Channel Edging Trim Seal 10mm x 6mm from Ebay. Nice and cheap 🙂

Where did you buy the trim to run across the slam panel please? It looks like the same as part of the rubber that runs across the plenum covering at the rear of the engine?

Good old Ebay. Search on Protective edge trim and you should find some. Hope this helps. :-)

Were the walnut overlays easy to fit ? ..... Do they come in a complete interior package - or as separate fittings

They're supplies as separate fittings, so you can just order the parts you need. Very easy to fit, but I should point out that the door switches in the video are OEM walnut switches rather than the overlays. Very hard to find, as they only made a small number for fitment to a limited edition sold on the continent. The switch overlays that you can buy are still very nice however. Not really. Used to be my daily driver 'till a few years ago. Now she sits under a car port and gets used on dry days mainly for club meets and monthly "breakfast meets" with the '75 club. Need to use her more though!
