Rover SD1 vitesse sound...

Good friend of mine called by for an engine service and general check over of his wonderful rover......

The most beautiful motor Britain ever made I think. Powerful engine, looked radical for its time, lovely soundtrack and it still holds up well even today

I owned one, 1984 v8 manual, great design, lovely drive, unfortunately let down by shocking build quality, trust me I fixed EVERYTHING on it but eventually it was breaking faster than I could fix it, that said it did have 475,000 Kms on it when I finally gave up!

The reason why it sounds so great... is because V8's are not balanced like V12 and V6's are. Base 6 is smoother than base 4, so you get a pop and chug that makes a V8 sound glorious!

Absolutely beautiful car.. my brother had one in the early 90s took me out in it and lost it on a very wet roundabout and hit a lamp post he scrapped it after that what a waste........
