I doubt anyone will read this, but I just need to put my feelings out there. I've been binging Ragnarok music a lot lately. I never had the chance to listen to it when the original game was still live, I was far too young to even use a computer then. I'm 17 now. Listening to all Ragnarok music just gives me such strong feelings, like childhood memories I never knew I had, but especially this one - that's why I'm commenting on this video. They exude such a strong aura of nostalgia, even though I don't have any memories involving these songs - that kind of nostalgia that makes you cry as if you're sad, even if you're not. Purity of your Smile, the theme of Prontera, the theme of Al de Baran, the desert music, One Fine Day (especially this one) and many other tracks I've listened to all have the same effect, with varying degrees of severity. The songs with vocals such as Not So Far Away and the voiced version of Purity of Your Smile all seem to have even stronger emotional impact for me - I'm not ashamed to admit I cry every time I listen to the very track I'm commenting on. It can only make me imagine how strong all of you who grew up listening to, grinding to, making friends to this soundtrack feel. I'm a little envious of your experience, but you've earned it.

This comment touched me so much; the feeling is mutual. Although I'm almost 29 now, Ragnarok Online came when I was 10, 19 years ago, literally the game is older than you haha. It was one of the first online game to arrive, back then my country still internet speed of 256Kbps, but somehow lags were never a problem. I grew attached to the game very rapidly due to my childhood experiences... bad parenting, bullying, and all those treatments I couldn't avoid. Ragnarok became my safe haven, even though I get to play only a couple hours per "month". I resorted to listening to BGMs and reading the few large RO books I bought, remember every song and page by heart, I knew everything there was to know, like a walking library, but never had much real experience of my own, how ironic. When I was in 10-11th grade, I took piano lessons. You might guess it, only to play Ragnarok piano pieces and nothing else (which was stupid really). I could play Theme of Prontera, Theme of Payon, Not So Far Away, Title, and Wanna Be Free. When I could play them all, I quit (Yep, stupid). So, you know now how much the songs mean to me too! I listen every so often, from then, until now, with memories of Ragnarok and Ragnarok-related memories still flashing like it was yesterday. And crying too. I'm not even sure if this is even mentally healthy, but it is where I feel safe and happiest.

I just watched the whole video but I am not native in both Japanese and English so sorry for my poor grammar and the translation could be inaccurate. The postman show is a TV show that helps the interviewee to deliver something. Satoko-san was blinded when she was born. At the time the show was filmed (2009), she had already married a blinded man (who she met in college) and already had a three year old kid. Her dream since childhood is to become a singer. At 2009 she started major debut with her first (and only) major single “たからもの” and her dream finally came true. At that time she wanted to thank her teacher Yamabe Fumie (山部文江) back in Junior High School. Yamabe-sensai is her respected person because yamabe-sensai is also a good singer. They even performed together at junior high school graduation ceremony with Yamabe-sensai singing and Satoko-san covering with drums. At her junior high school time she was worried if she should chase her dream and continued her path in music. Yamabe-sensai is the one person to tell her to go ahead with music and chase her dream. That’s why when satoko-san debuted she wanted to notify sensai and gave her the debut CD. However, they had no communication with each other for more than 10 years. The production team helps to deliver her message and CD. They traveled to Fukuoka and finally contacted Yamabe-sensai. Yamabe-sensai still remembered her student Satoko-san and she was really grateful and happy for satoko-san as she became what she wanted to be (a singer) since childhood. Finally they met each other after more than 10 years and the video ends with Yamabe-sensai listening to Satoko-san live singing. The game combines memorable music, beautiful art, and the best all-time community for a game in existence. The game is simple enough to draw any player in, is very cozy to play, and that low intensity gameplay reduces toxic behaviour seen in today's gaming community. Cute expressions enhances the game even further and ease up "first contact" with strangers. The game look simple, but actually has a high level of detail. Each monster was carefully made, and it felt like each of them have character. Whether is it the cute poring jumping around in the beginning, or the boss version of it as angeling. Or the boss Baphomet with his little kids that keeps following him around. Or the ant's egg that can hatch and protected by adult ants and even the queen herself. Or the maid Alice with her backstory, as seen in the anime. I could go on and on. Even places are chosen carefully. We have beautiful cities inspired by cities across the real world. We have fantasy stuff like a ghost ship or underwater dungeon. We have the classic dark castle, or as oppose to it, a winter town with heavy christmas theme. In other words, RO have a soul. It feels immersive, real, and like a chill home to back to. There was never a need for higher graphics or intensive gameplay to achive that.
