Brilliant series so far. The camera 'work' must've been very novel for the day. I particularly like the segue shots. For my money the lady with the manual 405 has the best drivers' car by a long chalk. I bet she ended up glad she didn't buy the 605, especially come trade in time !

I think the cameras would have been absolutely massive on rigs. I would love to see behind the scene photos. Tempted to buy the book but it's averaging at £25 second hand.

No Sat Nav, no media screen, no parking sensors, no lane assist, no 360 camera,no CVT gearbox, no air bags,no battery under the back seat and no Bluetooth. ( and very little seatbelt wearing ) 😮 How were people able to drive around in cars in those days without all those necessary items installed on their cars and still from A to B ? 😂🤣😅 Brilliant video !

17:09 All the specs he reads out are totally wrong for the 735i he's driving. Not 286hp (He'd need the 740i for that), it won't do 150 (again, he'd need a 740i for that), and it won't do 60 in 6 seconds (Even the 750i wouldn't get close). I guess it would do over 20mpg though.

It's really a documentary about relationships which are partly dead, and the subject of cars has been an albeit inconvenient ' vehicle ' for them to analyse their failing relationships; something which, for temporary convenience, such as for having lives which are spared the trouble of separating, they shall delay, but not, I'm sure, avoid. The emergency siren at 16' was, maybe, an unintentional metaphor.

My main takeaway about all these "From A to B" videos are how precious people are about mostly abysmal cars, the odd nice BMW or Merc aside. The Renault 5 GT Turbo was nowhere near as desirable as the Clio Williams that came after it. The less said about that Toyota Carina the better.

I do like this series alot however the narrative does get a bit overly down beat ie the characters are either nagging and sniping, or bragging in a kind of awful Alan Partridge one upmanship way, but never seemingly content with their lot. It's all on a very materialistic superficial level... keeping up with the Jones's ...bigger is better... concerns with outward appearances... cliched sexism etc but I concede it probably was the era for this mentality. That said they are riveting and impressively (immaculately ?)shot and edited. The same series covered people in their houses I remember... they always had the unique hallmark of the partakers signatures at the end Thanks for uploading!

I just want to address something here. I've noticed a couple of idiots here seem to think that these people were "paid actors" - That is a load of toss. As someone who actually lived in 1992/1993 and was conscious of the time. This is actually called a "documentary". Documentaries are factual programmes using real people and in this case, understanding the motorist and how they feel about thier cars. This requires talking to real people, not "actors". They were likely to have been paid a paltry amount for thier time. Documentaries were very popular in the early 90s, theu were like a soap but withoit actors, sets and scripts. And it was documentaries like this that eventually paved the way for these so-called "reality" shows that are popular today.
