That old two cylinder John Deere had granny gear, and weighted properly can compete with more powerful tractors, but very slowly. These are the tractors I grew up with.

Why do they drop the pan on farmstock classes like that that just blank blank blank me off when they do that

As cool as it is to see these "farm tractors" hooked to the sled, the drop pan sled kinda kills it. At this weight and their speed when the pan drops like at 3:50 they simply do not have enough speed (and weight) built up to continue.

You may have heard me say, "Man I hop they let them run!" in the beginning of the video. This sled does great with high level high performance machines. There was supposed to be mini sled for the 4x4 drive trucks and these tractors. The other sled did not show, so this is what we got. I should have moved the camera. My bad. Still, I think it was decent enough to look at for 10 minutes. I know I enjoyed it.

So I asked the operator and they said they did not engage the grouser bars that dig into the track. And they let the weight box top out super slowly.

WWPTV Don’t get me wrong I love all pulling and would love to be there! And it’s a shame that other sled didn’t show up. Not sure if the pan drop is controllable on the terminator sled but where we pull they can control whether the back portion of the sled pan drops and where it drops (which is what looks like is happening)

This class never had any speed. They were built to do hard work all day. A good sled operator sets the sled to almost let the bulk of the field to get close to the finish line.

Does this mean in this class they have have pto and hydraulic systems like they came from the factory?

Asked pullers and they said yes they still have PTO. One other puller said “ whether it is functioning is a-whole-nother question entirely”

Row crop normally means a narrow front end also. You will notice no tractors with a wide front end. Also, not all old tractors had hydraulic system standard. Our old Oliver had an aftermarket PTO mounted external hydraulic pump.

@@robertheinkel6225 some of the old Farmalls had a lift system that worked off the exhaust as well.

Love it .has a good variety of tractors and ya can hear the motors actually work like they should chugging along .I wish it would say the leighnth of the pull and the name of the tractor I can name most but not all lol plus I'm 3/4s deaf so cant allways hear what they say lol but great vid ..thanks and God bless

Kunal KANWAR RANA Nothing, these are row crop tractors. The front wheels are designed Togo in between rows of crops.
