i just got the gt7 a week ago and got a taste of the rally tracks 3 times during the license tests. the way the Toyota Tundra slid though the dirt caught me off guard, i loved it , i was only .500 seconds into getting Gold i instantly felt like a kid playing Gran turismo 3 rally i remembered driving around the smoky mountain trail with the 98 Corolla

Honestly it’s hard to tell. GT4’s tracks are very narrow and technical while GT7’s are wide so you don’t get the same sort of scenarios to get a good feel for it. Jump physics in 7 aren’t as sketchy as they used to be but I feel like you lose more momentum when sliding in 7 more than you do in 4

Yes, the rally races in Gran Turismo have basically been the same since GT2. They definitely need to add proper rally events.

Rally isn’t PD’s strong suit sadly. They do have some care for it because they added off-road and some rally cars but it’s far from an ideal rally experience. It’s just glorified rally cross. The only time they tried to do rally properly was Gran Turismo 5 when they had the WRC licence. But hardly utilised it to the best of their ability. Sure it had a co driver, staggered starts, point to point but it was just so bland. I personally appreciate the addition of rally cars in GT alongside dirt tracks but they should really try proper rally since they have a focus on Motorsport and car culture etc.
