Thank you Rowena, this song still shakes me, a year after I first heard you perform it in Abbotsford. How do you sound so strong and exhausted at the same time? The more I think about the layers in your lyrics, the freakier I think your are! You coax this sharp bare truth out into that blurry light, and it is so nourished and held. And my lordy, this is an incredible video - the light through your fringe, the copy of "Vanished Kingdom" on the bookshelf behind you, your lips, the crisp sound quality of every string, your ear stud, the way you articulate "city" after the uke break.
