I love Roxane Gay and could listen to her velvet voice all day. Her wisdom and intellect helps me be brave and tap into a more authentic part of my soul.

'Velvet' is such a perfect description for her voice. I listened to her book Hunger on Audible. And it's still the most pleasant audiobook I've listened to because of her voice (despite the heartbreaking aspects of her life).

When Saeed was introducing Roxane at the beginning, it was so breath-taking, hearing Difficult Women summarised. The book is such an immersive experience that changes you after you read it.

I would pay money to just be able to listen in on a conversation between these two geniuses. Enlightening and hilarious in equal measure.

I could barely hear the questions. Make that I could NOT hear the questions. Please repeat the questions. The acoustics were not "crystal clear" on my end :) Notwithstanding, I love to hear Roxane talk. She's a guiding light!

To be honest, this chair provided for Roxane Gay is upsetting me so much. She is clearly uncomfortable. Can't believe no one thought of that, she can barely move.

She’s large. People aren’t always as forthcoming as they ought to be with big women. She or her handlers need to ask, to make sure her space needs are met. How do you think it is for her to fly⁉️ if she does. But I suspect Ms Gay knows how to care for herself. Chances are tho that she is more considerate of others than they are of her. What a world innit?

I was seriously concerned about the gender pay gap comment and why Milo gets so much more of an advance for his book than Roxanne. First publishers want to make money, they only pay an author as much as they think they can recoup; with a healthy profit. If Milo gets more, it isn't sexism or a gender pay gap, it's how many books the publisher thinks it will sell. Milo is much more popular, this may be rude and unfortunate, but it is true.

Not. No idea who milo is. I know this tho: a man could sell two books and still get a bigger advance than the woman who fails to ask what others are getting. Literary agents have jobs for a reason. Doesn’t matter which industry, women get offered less and paid less even surgeons! You are so uninformed about how these things work.
