Thanks a million Roxanne. I have been forced to help my wife with her knitting for the past year. She has dementia and has really been loosing her skills that she has had down pat for many years. You know how very important it is for people to keep their hobby alive, even though they are having a difficult time of it.

I never realised how knitting can be stressful and sweat-inducing in our attempts to get things right so that the finished product looks really good and professional. thank you this is most helpful. I would have also liked to have seen how you might weave in the ends following the patterns on the wrong side, as you suggest, on either side of the repaired stitch in example 1. It appears that there are holes in the fabric still on either side of the sewn-in green stitch and a few wayward yellow threads on the wrong side. how can one correct those loose yellow threads?

I really like your technical explanations. I tried knitting recently but a bunch of stitches fell off at once and I couldn't get them all back on evenly so I gave up and went back to crochet. Recovering from a mistake in crochet is 100000 easier than knitting, especially since knitting mistakes don't seem obvious to me until a couple of rows down.
@RoxanneRichardson2 жыл бұрын
There's a great trick for correcting knitting mistakes from previous rows: you can ladder down a span of sts, so that you don't have to rip back any of the sts that were knit correctly, only the ones that were a mistake. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4PQlquof7d8etE

Hi Roxanne, this is a great video because I struggle with holes in my socks when I turn the heel, and then have to pick up the stitches from the front needle. It makes a hole at the top of the join, where I start decreasing the join. So frustrating! Now I know how to fix it. I wish I understood knitting enough to avoid the holes. Thank you for teaching this! Cynthia
