I have had this machine for over a year and haven't learned how to use it effectively. Thankfully, I have found your videos, which are so clear and understandable. Finally, I will learn how to use this machine, which I was about to give up on. Hopefully I can also get the auto threader to work. I even had it replaced, but no luck getting it to work. Maybe the needle is too small. Will try it with a bigger needle than my #65.
@RoxanneStitches10 жыл бұрын
Hi Alta! Glad to hear my videos have helped you not give up on your machine. What brand of sewing machine needles are you using? If it's something other than Singer Brand, you may need to adjust your needle lower in the shank to get the correct alignment. To test this insert your needle and then engage your needle threader to see if the hooking mechanism is actually going through the eye of the needle. If you have a magnifying glass, it will help you see this clearly. **Only adjust the needle if you are using the threading mechanism to check alignment and actually thread the needle, otherwise you may cause damage later. I hope this helps.

That’s the one thing I like about brother is their Manuel’s are very well written and easy to understand plus they include an instructional cd. I’ve had a hard time figuring out how to change the different stitches., length and width and the different fonts. The buttons are confusing. Thank you for this you made it much easier to understand. I did however spend a very frustrating morning when the machine was juddering and wouldn’t stitch at all. I was really worried. I had no idea what was wrong. I re threaded several times and eventually it behaved and did a good buttonhole which was what I was trying to do. During the course of my remedial actions i found a lot of small pieces of cut threads to the left of the bobbin case holder.???? I assume it was from the automatic thread cutter. Any advice? Oh Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly. I am glad I asked, I was going crazy trying and trying to see how I could make them bigger. Now I can sleep better. ha/ha. Again thank you so much. Look forward to watching the rest of your videos. Carolyn

You're welcome carolyn. That's a FAQ. It would be nice if they we able to be enlarged, but that's a more expensive feature. There are so many other wonder features of this machine that we can use and enjoy.

@@RoxanneStitches many thanks for your response. That was very helpfull. I was thinking about between the 9960 and the 9985. I think the 9960 is better. Unfortunately, our machines are much more expensive in Germany.

Did miss it? Can you change the font size? Trying to do on quilt for my grandson and it went well on scrap material but not so good on quilt. I am have to go back and forth redoing letters and it is not easy to remove letters. Love my new machine but every thing I try I am having problems,, thanks to your site my mid night problems slowly get easier, Thank You so much for your help.

Hi Terr. I'm happy to hear you love your machine and are finding my videos helpful. Unfortunately, the letter and number stitches are preset into the machine and are not able to be edited. As far as using the letter stitches on your quilt, it may be too dense? Maybe, try doing the stitching on a single layer of fabric with stabilizer and then applique onto your quilt. Hope this helps.

I'm watching all of your videos and am loving them while I wait for my machine to arrive. I have a question on alphabets, can they be made any size on the machine, or just 1/4 that I read in a review.

@@patriciastobbart9516 that will depend on what fabric you're using. I used a regular sharp needle with my poly cotton woven. Make sure to stabilize. I think I used embroidery thread for my demo.

@RoxanneStitches3 жыл бұрын
@@liliafuentes1289 Shut the machine off and gently remove the fabric. Remove your needle plate and clear out all the extra threads that may be stuck. Clean under the bobbin casing and and replace it properly. Insert a new needle. Power it back on and test.

📍🧵✂️Hello All, my Singer 9960 was delivered today and I love it but I haven’t figured out how to remove the spacing in between letters so it doesn’t look like this: S I N G E R but SINGER. Does anyone know how to adjust the spacing and make fonts larger/smaller? Thanks for your help!✂️🧵📍

Hi, Roxanne, I have a Quantum stylist. I have a concern im hoping you have any advice on. My letters are coming out wrong. Not like the handbook troubleshooting suggest. Half the letter is not aligned with the top. I was hoping anyone had an idea how to fix this. I tried changong the negative, positive turn key under the machine but neither helped. I also tried fixing the tension but it didnt help. Im thinking i need to reset the machine
@RoxanneStitches4 жыл бұрын
Hi Eileen. The best thing to do is call Singer. They can troubleshoot with you and give you some insight into what the issue could be. Make sure you're using the correct foot and stabilizer when using the letter stitches. Good luck!!
