Who gave the video a thumbs down? The pianist is clearly competent, the rendition palatable, the picture easy to make out, and the sound quality is completely recognizable in that there are no spikes, static, or any other undesirables. Therefore, I cannot find value in a thumbs down or other negative feedback. The only possible reasons left are not quantifiable in the sense of professional criticism.

Thanks for the comment & compliment :) That's just a lead from the piano's headphone jack, into the back of the mac mini! When doing recordings on it, I actually reduce the bass in the EQ afterwards (it has an especially boomy sound around 120Hz).

***** If you can't read notes, you have to learn notes. If you don't learn notes and basic music stuff, you won't be able to play it, unless you have either good ears, or good memory and fast mind...I when I went on my first piano lesson 7 years ago, I couldn't play without mistakes even the easiest song there was. But then if you learn in order harder and harder stuff, you will be able to play this. Now I can learn fast song with 10 pages in just one month...When I started playing, I couldn't play the easiest song in 1 week ;) Rly.

You, Sir, are a spectacular pianist, if I may say so myself. But, I have to add some criticism otherwise I'd drive myself insane. It has been three years since you posted this magnificent piece of art, and I'm sure you have learned a great deal more and have become so much more experienced. But, just in case, I must say- I feel no emotion from your playing. A black and white page of music notes may be shown by playing them, but they aren't truly alive unless you add emotion. You may not have the proper experience with the emotions need to fill a certain piece, but you can fake that emotion. It takes work, and experience (Which you have), but it is worth it in the end. A good piano to you Sir!

I know that it's not impossible to play that fast but it really looks like it is sped up by something like 15/20%. Play the video at 75% and it sound way less rushed. Anyway thumbs up!

Excelent Performance. The original tune is in B minor (or D major)? You play in a minor. Man, You are the Liszt of rock. You fly on the keyboard

Thanks and well noticed! You're correct, the original was in Bm, when I play the song in a band I play in Bm (and it's very different piano part, with other added synth parts etc). However the piano solo arrangement felt like it was more suited to Am. Interestingly the first part is slightly easier to play in Am, but when it transposes to C#m for the last chorus it becomes more difficult than in the original key :)

Although I never played the piano, I think this video wasn't sped fast because I believe that piano players can actually play that fast with their hands. And it doesn't really matter if the video was sped fast or not; what matters is that the music sounds good and that the player themself knows that they played this song all by themself naturally.

I've always loved this song and your rendition of it (pretty sure I already left a comment below), but recently I discovered it actually starts in B minor rather than A... and now I'm all messed up when you get to the transition part (first to E, then C# minor, then B major, C# major... and then I lose it...). :-)

Yes this is transposed 2 semitones down from the original, when I've played it in bands in the past I've done it in Bm then gone up to C#m (and obviously played it very differently), but this key felt like a better fit for the piano arrangement!
